4246. John Arthur Lighthall , Jr. (Zayde Eliza Thorne Sackett , William Augustus Sacket , William Sacket , Jonathan Sacket , Jonathan Sacket , William Sacket , John , Simon , Thomas , Thomas ) was born on 17 Aug 1859 in Chicago, Cook Co., IL. He died in 1946 in Syracuse, Onondaga Co., NY.

In his later years he wrote a memoir, which is in the possession of family members, and contains a good deal of information about the Lighthall family from about 1860 on, and also some facts as well as speculation about earlier events.

John married Mary Everett Kilburn daughter of William Jennison Kilburn and Augusta Perley Aiken on 21 Oct 1886 in NEw Bedford, Bristol Co., MA. Mary was born on 23 May 1864 in Augusta, Kennebec Co., ME. She died in 1949 in Syracuse, Onondaga Co., NY.

	5870	M	v	Richard John Lighthall was born on 9 Jun 1898 in Syracuse, Onondaga Co., NY. He died on 19 Jun 1986 in Vernon, Windham Co., VT. RICHARD JOHN LIGHTHALL, (6): Attended Hamilton College, BA Syracuse University; 2nd Lieutenant in World War I, did not get to France. (Had a severe case of flu in 1918, and was so thin his mother did not recognize him - 6ft and 118lbs!!) Banker, Trust Officer with the Chemical Bank in New York. Active in community affairs, served on Board of Finance in Darien for several years. Described as the only person who boarded the morning commuter train to New York with a smile on his face and a bounce in his step. A kind and gentle man. In his later years had persistent heart trouble, and died in his sleep of a heart attack. Lived in Darien most of his professional career; they bought a home in Lakeville CT in 1952, and spent most of their weekends and holidays there from then on. 				Richard married Helen Cooper French daughter of Edmund Leavenworth French and Frances Cooper Smith on 26 Oct 1922 in Syracuse, Onondaga Co., NY. Helen was born on 7 Feb 1899 in Syracuse, Onondaga Co., NY. She died on 19 Jun 1986 in Vernon, Windham Co., VT. HELEN COOPER FRENCH, (7): Active in community affairs in Darien and Stamford, Connecticut, especially with the Stamford Hospital Board. Sponsored at least three displaced persons after World War II. A thoughtful Christian woman who was concerned for people as individuals. Artistically talented - did stenciling and weaving and rug-hooking.

WILLIAM SACKETT CURDY, 1873-, son of William W. Curdy and (3676) Helen A. Sackett, was born at Humboldt, Kansas, and removed from thence to Topeka, Kansas, with his parents in Feb., 1886. In 1892 he went to Little Rock, Ark., and from 1895 to 1900 was assistant resident manager of the A. M. Kellogg Newspaper Co. From 1900 to 1906 he was located at Chicago as assistant western advertising manager of said company. On Mar. 19, 1906, he became the advertising and business manager of The Packer, a fruit and produce trade newspaper, published at 23 E. Missouri Ave., Kansas City, Mo.
