Moses Denison Shepard bible records show Moses Hazel born 14 Aug 1830Moses Shepard was enrolled on the 6th day Sept, 1861 at Jackson, in Co C, 9 Regiment of Michigan Volunteers, to serve 3 years, or during the war. On the muster rolls of Co C , of that Regiment, for the months of (from enrollment to April 30, 1863), he is reported present for duty---he was discharged for disability ---May 19, 1863. Co was stationed at Murfreesboro, Tenn in March 1863
On a Declaration for Pension dated 23 Feb 1907, Moses Shepard declared he was 76 years old and that he was born in 1831. If he was born 14 Aug 1831 then he was 75 years, 6 months, and 9 days old on 23 Feb 1907. The bible record would seem to be correct and gives his birthdate as 14 Aug 1830. If he was born in 1830, he lived 77 years, 7 months, 18 days.
