- Ald. POLLOCK moved that the rules governing the Council
last year be adopted for the government of the present
- Council. Carried.
- On motion of Ald. HANSEN the regular order of business
was dispensed with.
- On motion of Ald. DAY the Council proceeded to the
election of a president of the Council for the ensuing year.
- First Ballot - Total vote cast 15, of which E. F. HANSEN

- E. F. HANSEN having received a majority of all the
votes cast was elected President of the Council.
- Ald. POLLOCK presented the following resolution, which
was adopted:
- Resolved, That the salaries of all officers elected
by the Council be the same as during the past year.
- On motion of Ald. DAY the Council proceeded to the
election of a City Clerk.
- On ballot being taken 15 votes were cast of which Geo. B.
INGERSOLL received 15 and was declared elected.
- On motion of Ald. POLLOCK the Council proceeded to
the election of a City Attorney.
- On ballot being taken 15 votes were cast of which John C.
ROOD received 14 and Silas MENZIE 1.
- John C. ROOD having received a majority of all the
votes cast was declared elected.
- Ald. HANSEN moved that the remaining officers be elected
in the order as shown on the Committee card.
- On ballot being taken for City Marshal 15 votes were cast
of which G. M. APPLEBY received 15 and was declared
- elected.
- On ballot being taken for City Sexton 15 votes were cast
of which J. D. QUACKENBUSH received 14, Wm.
- HANNER 1.
- J. D. QUACKENBUSH having received a majority of all
votes cast was declared elected.
- On motion of Ald. LEDELL the election of a City Engineer
was postponed by the following vote, the ayes and noes
- being called:
- Ayes - Ald. CLARKE, CUNNINGHAM, GARDNER,
HANSEN, HELM, LEDELL, MERRILL,
- MUELLER, NEEDHAM - 9.
- Noes - Ald. BUCKERIDGE, DAY, GESLEY,

- On ballot being taken for City Weigher 15 votes were cast
of which Y. R. BRAND received 11, C. A.
- RATHBUN 4.
- Y. R. BRAND having received a majority of all votes
cast was declared elected.
- Ald. SHARP moved that the Mayor appoint a City Engineer
to act until such time as the Council might elect. Carried.
- On ballot being taken for Health Officer 13 votes were cast,
of which I. BUCKERIDGE received 11, A. C.
