R. H. BROWN having received a majority of all votes cast was declared elected.
Ald. DAY nominated S. W. MORSE for Constable from the Third ward.
On motion the Clerk was instructed to cast the vote of the Council for S. W. MORSE. The vote was so cast and
S. W. MORSE declared elected.
Ald. POLLOCK nominated R. G. SCHEIBEL for Constable from the Fourth ward. On motion the clerk was
instructed to cast the vote of the Council for R. G. SCHEIBEL. The vote was so cast and R. G. SCHEIBEL declared elected.
Ald. LEDELL nominated A. T. SABERSON for Constable from the Fifth ward. On motion the Clerk was
instructed to cast the vote of the Council for A. T. SABERSON. The vote was so cast and A. T. SABERSON declared elected.
Ald. HELM nominated I. E. GOODALL for assessor for the First ward. On motion the Clerk was instructed to
cast the vote of the Council for I. E. GOODALL. The vote was so cast and I. E. GOODALL declared elected.
Ald. HANSEN nominated F. F. LIVERMORE for assessor for the Second ward. On motion the Clerk was
instructed to cast the vote of the Council for F. F. LIVERMORE. The vote was so cast and F. F. LIVERMORE declared elected.
Ald. GESLEY nominated Charles CLEOPHAS for assessor for the Third ward. Ald. DAY nominated A. W.
BULLOCK. On ballot being taken fifteen votes were cast, of which Charles CLEOPHAS received 11, A. W. BULLOCK 4. Charles CLEOPHAS having received a majority of all votes cast was declared elected.
Ald. POLLOCK nominated O. P. SMITH for assessor for the Fourth ward. On motion the Clerk was instructed to
cast the vote of the Council for O. P. SMITH. The vote was so cast and O. P. SMITH declared elected.
Ald. MERRILL nominated Geo. SEEGMILLER for assessor for the Fifth ward. Ald. HEWITT nominated Ed.
BURNS. On ballot being taken 15 votes were cast, of which Geo. SEEGMILLER received 8, Ed. BURNS 7. Geo. SEEGMILLER having received a majority of votes cast was declared elected.
Ald. CUNNINGHAM presented the following resolution which was adopted by the unanimous vote of the Council
the ayes and noes being called:
Resolved, That the city clerk be instructed to ask the two newspapers of this city for sealed bids for publishing the
council proceedings for the ensuing year and doing all other printing for the city during that period, the clerk to specify in detail what this work comprises; and that the bids so obtained be opened at the next regular meeting of the common council; and be it further
Resolved, That the newspaper making the lowest bid be awarded the contract for the work mentioned for the period
of one year.
Ald. HANSEN presented the following resolution which was adopted:
Resolved, That the city clerk be instructed to have printed the usual number of committee and roll-call cards and the
usual number of copies of Council Proceedings printed and bound in the usual form.
On motion the Council adjourned.
