Ald. POLLOCK presented the following petition, which was granted:

    To the Honorable Mayer and Common Council of the City of Beloit: -
    Gentlemen: The undersigned, your petitioners, respectfully ask that a grade be established on the
    north side of West Bridge street across Block four (4), BLODGETT & KING's Addition to Beloit, and a sidewalk ordered there.

Ald. HANSEN presented the following petition, which was granted:

    To the Honorable Mayer and Common Council of the City of Beloit: -
    Gentlemen: We, the undersigned taxpayers of the Second ward of the City of Beloit, would respect-
    fully ask your honorable body to cause a sidewalk and terrace grade to be established on the east side of College street between Park Place and Lawton avenue.

    To the Honorable Mayer and Common Council of the City of Beloit: -
    Gentlemen: - We, the undersigned, your petitioners, respectfully request your honorable body to
    order a sidewalk laid on the south side of Mechanics' Green, north of Broad street, and extending east across the south side of the premises owned by Helen E. GOODWIN FIFIELD, in block 54, city of Beloit, Wis.

Ald. POLLOCK, for the Judiciary committee, presented the following resolution which was adopted:
WHEREAS, On the 10th day of April, 1900, a petition was filed with the City Clerk of the city of Beloit, Wisconsin,
praying that what is known as "HALE's Addition to Beloit," which was platted June 12th, 1891, by Perley HALE as owner and proprietor, said plat being recorded in Vol. 5 of Plats, page 19, in the Recorder's office for Rock county, Wisconsin, embracing the following described premises lying and being in the city of Beloit, county of Rock and State of Wisconsin, to wit:
"A part of fractional lots 1 and 2, in section 26, town 1, range 12, bounded on the south by the quarter section line
which runs east and west through said section; on the east by Rock river; on the west by a highway which leads from the city of Beloit to the village of Afton; and on the north by lands formerly conveyed by A. B. CARPENTER to S. S. SLAYTER, and occupied by said SLAYTER on April 1st, 1878, excepting therefrom that part of said premises conveyed by Geo. B. SANDERSON to the Beloit & Madison Railway Co., now the C. & N.W.," be vacated and discontinued; and
Whereas, Said petition is signed by F. L. PRESTON, now the sole owner and proprietor of the said premises
known as "HALE's Addition to Beloit," to which is attached a blue print or tracing of the said "HALE's Addition" which he asks to be vacated; and
Whereas, Notice of the pendency of said application has been filed in the office of the Register of Deeds of said Rock
county according to law; therefore, it is now
Resolved, That the Common Council of the city of Beloit will act upon said petition on the 21st day of May, 1900, at
8 o'clock in the evening of that day at the Council Chamber of the city of Beloit.
It is further Resolved, That the following notice be posted in three public places in said city of Beloit at least one
week before said 21st day of May, 1900:
                NOTICE.
Take Notice, that upon the 10th day of April, 1900, a petition was filed with the City Clerk of the city of Beloit,
praying for the vacation and discontinuance of what is known as "HALE's Addition to Beloit, Wisconsin," the said plat embracing the following described prem- [continue to Page 11]
