Ald. LEDELL moved that the first plan be adopted. Supported and adopted.
On motion of Ald. POLLOCK the Police committee were instructed to procure estimates on repairing jail.
Ald. HELM, for the Aldermen of the First ward, reported accepting the report of the City Engineer of terrace stakes
set on Prairie avenue. The report was adopted.
Ald. HANSEN, for the Finance committee, presented the following report which was accepted, and more time was
given them:

To the Honorable Mayor and Common Council of the City of Beloit: -
Your Finance committee to which was referred the resolution to consider the advisability of issuing
$16,000.00 of City bonds, would report: that until the Council has decided upon some definite plan of improvements contemplated, and of the estimated cost of same, your committee is not in a position to fairly consider this question, and would therefore ask for further time until such plans are perfected and estimates of costs secured.

Ald. HANSEN, for the Aldermen of the Second ward, reported in favor of adopting grades for sidewalks as set by
the City Engineer on the west side of North College street and on the south side of Park Place between Church street and Eclipse avenue. On motion the report was adopted.
Ald. DAY, for the Fire committee, presented the following majority report on the petition against removing the fire
alarm box on the corner of Broad and Mill streets:

Your Fire committee recommended that the within petition not be granted.
          E. A. DAY, D. E. HEWITT, Isaac BUCKERIDGE, D. H. POLLOCK.
    Ald. MUELLER presented the following minority report on the petition:

Your committee to which was referred the petition for moving fire alarm box recommend leaving same
at present location.
          Chas. F. MUELLER.
Ald. CUNNINGHAM moved the adoption of the minority report which was supported and lost by the following
vote, the ayes and noes being called:
Ayes - Ald. CLARKE, CUNNINGHAM, GESLELY, HELM, LEDELL, MUELLER, NEEDHAM - 7.
Noes - Ald. BUCKERIDGE, DAY, GUARDNER, HANSEN, HEWITT, MERRILL, POLLOCK,
SHARP - 8.
The majority report was then adopted by the following vote, the ayes and noes being called:
Ayes - Ald. BUCKERIDGE, DAY, GUARDNER, HANSEN, HEWITT, MERRILL, POLLOCK,
SHARP - 8.
Noes - Ald. CLARKE, CUNNINGHAM, GESLELY, HELM, LEDELL, MUELLER, NEEDHAM - 7.
Ald. DAY, for the Fire committee, presented the following report and moved its adoption:

To the Hon. Mayor and Common Council:
GENTLEMEN: Your Fire committee to whom the within resolution was referred respectfully
recommend its adoption and that the Fire committee be and is hereby instructed to cause the fire alarm box now located at the corner of Broad and Mill streets to be removed to the corner of Broad and Pleasant streets.
          E. A. DAY, D. E. HEWITT, D. H. POLLOCK, Isaac BUCKERIDGE.
Ald. CUNNIGHAM moved to lay the report on the table. Supported and lost by the following vote, the ayes and
noes being called:
Ayes - Ald. CLARKE, CUNNINGHAM, HELM, LEDELL, MUELLER, NEEDHAM - 6.
Noes - Ald. BUCKERIDGE, DAY, GARDNER, GESLEY, HANSEN, HEWITT, MERRILL, POLLOCK,
SHARP - 9.
On motion of Ald. BUCKERIDGE the report was then adopted by the following vote, the ayes and noes being
called:
