Resolved, That a grade be established and a sidewalk ordered laid on the west side of Harrison avenue from White
avenue to Lawrence avenue.
Ald. HANSEN presented the following resolution which was adopted:

To the Hon. Mayor and Common Council of the city of Beloit:
Gentlemen: I submit herewith a deed from Messrs. FAIRBANKS, MORSE & Co. dedicating to the city
of Beloit a strip of land 50 feet wide, extending from the north boundary of block 3 of PEET & SALMON's Addition to Beloit, extended easterly to the center line of Park avenue as far north as the joint switch tracks of the C. & N.W. and the C.M. & St. P. railways. The said strip of land being dedicated for the purpose of a public street, all of which will appear from the said deed, which is self-explanatory. That the said dedication may be accepted, I submit herewith the following resolution:
Resolved, That the dedication for the purposes of a street by FAIRBANKS, MORSE & Co. of the
strip of land described in their deed dated May 18th, 1900, be and the same hereby is accepted, so that Park avenue in the city of Beloit may be a public street 100 feet wide, extending as far north as the joint switch tracks of the C. & N.W. and the C.M. & St. P. railways.
Ald. LEDELL presented an ordinance which was read the first time in full and the second time by title and was
entitled as follows:

            ORDINANCE NO. --
    An Ordinance to vacate what is known as "HALE's Addition to the city of Beloit, Wisconsin."
On motion of Ald. LEDELL all rules interfering with the immediate passage of the ordinance were suspended by
unanimous consent.
The ordinance was then read a third time in full.
Ald. POLLOCK moved that the ordinance be number 66 and placed on its final passage and that it do now pass.
The ordinance was then passed entitled as follows:

            ORDINANCE NO. 66
    An Ordinance to vacate what is known as "HALE's Addition to the city of Beloit, Wisconsin."
On motion of Ald. POLLOCK the Health and Sewerage committee were empowered to secure a dumping ground.
An invitation was received from the L. H. D. CRANE Post No. 544 asking the Council to attend Memorial Day
exercises in a body.
On motion of Ald. POLLOCK the invitation was accepted.
The Board of Public Works reported the receipt of but one bid for chip and crushed stone as follows:

To the Mayor and Common Council of the city of Beloit:
I offer and agree to furnish and deliver to the city of Beloit, at any point or place within said city on
the west side of Rock river in any quantity required, chipped stone for street use and purposes at the price of 45 cents per cubic yard.
I also offer and agree to furnish and deliver at any point within the city of Beloit, on the east side of
Rock river chipped stone, in any quantity required, by said city, at the price of 60 cents per cubic yard.
I also offer and agree to furnish and deliver, suitable for street use and purposes, crushed stone at
any point within said city, in any quantity required, on the west side of Rock river, at a price of $1.10 per cubic yard.
I also offer and agree to furnish and deliver to said city at any point within said city on the east side
of Rock river, crushed stone, in any quantity required, suitable for street use at the price of $1.25 per cubic yard.
The foregoing offer of crushed and chipped stone to be limited to the year A.D. 1900.

On motion the bid was referred to the Senior Aldermen from the five wards for investigation and report.
A report from the City Engineer of grade stakes set on Eighth street between E and D streets was presented and
accepted.
Reports from the City Engineer of grades set on the east side of Eighth street between Bridge and E streets, on the
east side of North College street, east side of Park avenue north of White avenue, on Barstow avenue, on the west [continue to Page 21]
