    Ald. HANSEN, for the Aldermen of the Second ward, presented the following report which was adopted:

To the Honorable Mayor and Common Council:
Your committee, the Aldermen of the Second ward, to whom were referred the reports and profiles
prepared by the City Engineer of grades fixed for sidewalks on the east side of North College street between Lawton avenue and Park Place, and on the west side of Central avenue between Clary street and Woodward avenue, would report in favor of adopting the same.

The special committee of the senior Aldermen asked for and were granted more time for the consideration of the
matter of crushed stone.
Ald. SHARP presented the following resolution which was adopted:
Resolved, That stakes be set and a sidewalk grade be established on the south side of Kenwood avenue, and that
the City Engineer be instructed to make the necessary survey.
Ald. CUNNINGHAM presented the following resolution which was adopted:
Resolved, That a sidewalk grade be ordered established on the west side of Elm street between D and C streets.
Ald. POLLOCK presented the following resolution which was adopted:
Resolved, That the City Surveyor be directed to set stakes and report to the Council a profile to establish a new
grade on Euclid avenue lowering the present grade at the east end about five-tenths of a foot, and making Bluff street correspond, and making an even and regular incline from Bluff to Eighth street with a view to carrying the surface water west on Euclid avenue to Eighth street.
Resolved, also, That a catch-basin be constructed on the corner of Eighth street and Vernon avenue which will
eventually be connected with a storm water sewer on Vernon avenue to drain a large portion of the Third and Fourth wards into the river.
Ald. MUELLER for the Aldermen of the First ward presented the following recommendation which was referred to
the Fire committee:

To the Honorable the Mayor and Common Council: -
We the Aldermen of the First ward would recommend to your honorable body that a new fire box be
placed on the corner of Broad and Mill streets.

Ald. CUNNINGHAM presented the following resolution, which was adopted:
Resolved, That a sidewalk be ordered built on the west side of Third street between E and D streets, 6 feet wide,
and the Clerk be directed to notify property owners to build said sidewalk.
Ald. NEEDHAM presented the following resolution, which was referred to the Street Lights committee:
Resolved, That the Street Lights committee be directed and is hereby ordered to cause an arc light to be placed at
the intersection of Prairie and Woodward avenues.
Ald. DAY presented the following resolution, which was adopted:
WHEREAS, The C. & N.W. Ry. Co. have asked to have the grade of Broad street between State street and Mill
street established as indicated in the accompanying profile,
Resolved, That the grade of that portion of said street be so established, but upon condition that said railway
company put in at its own expense, under supervision of the City Engineer, a catch basin on the line of the storm water sewer on Broad street at a point near the southeast corner of the new freight depot, so as to take care of the surface water which now runs west on Broad street, west of State street.
Ald. HELM presented the following resolution, which was adopted:
WHEREAS, A sidewalk grade and terrace line has been established on the south side of Mechanics Green and
sidewalk ordered laid; be it
