- in on proper terrace line and that a 5-foot artificial stone
walk be constructed along the south side of said park, the said
walk to be laid up to the curb line, so that said walk shall
be just inside the curb.
- The Council was addressed by representatives of capitalists
seeking a street railway franchise.
- Reports from the City Engineer were received of grades set
on Harrison avenue, Clary street, Jackson street and
- Oak street and were referred to the Aldermen of the respective
wards in which located.
- A report of elevations for drainage on D, E, Oak and Vine
streets was received from the City Engineer and referred
- to the Aldermen of the Third ward.
- The City Attorney presented a verbal report on the abstract
of the property proposed to be purchased for a Fifth
- ward house.
- The report of the Police Justice for May, showing no cases
in which the city was a party, was received, accepted
- and placed on file.
- The report of the City Sexton for May, showing receipts of
&68.00, with Treasurer's receipt attached, was pre-
- sented, accepted and placed on file.
- Ald. CLARKE, for the Street Lights committee, reported
on the bill of the Beloit Electric Co. for $313.35
- recommending that $263.35 be allowed.
- On motion, the report was adopted and bill allowed in amount
as recommended by the unanimous vote of the
- Council, the ayes and noes being called.
- On motion, the Council went into executive session.
- On rising, Ald. CUNNINGHAM moved that the Judiciary
committee confer with telephone companies as to the
- abatement of the wire nuisance.
- Carried.
- On motion, the Council then adjourned.
