- Section 6. Any person residing in the city
of Beloit owning or having in his or her possession any
- dog or bitch, who shall allow the same to
run at large without first being registered as herein provided
and without having upon its neck a collar with a brass tag attached
as herein provided shall pay a penalty of not more than five
dollars nor less than one dollar.
- Section 7: This ordinance shall be in force
and take effect upon August 1, 1900, and after its passage
- and publication.
- Ordained and enacted by the Common Council
of the city of Beloit. The day of ---------- A.D. 1900.

- Ald. NEEDHAM presented the following resolution which
was adopted:
- Resolved, That the Board of Public Works be hereby
directed to cause Pleasant street to be brought to grade and
a
- layer of crushed stone to be laid on the street from Public
avenue to Eclipse avenue.
- Ald. HANSEN, for the Aldermen of the Second ward,
presented the following report:

- To the Honorable Mayor and Common Council
of the City of Beloit: -
- Your committee, the Aldermen of the Second
ward, to whom were referred the matter of vacating a
- portion of Eclipse avenue would report in
favor of adopting the within ordinance.

- The ordinance accompanying said report was read the first
time in full and the second time by title and was entitled as
- follows:

- An Ordinance to Vacate a Portion of the Public
Highway in the City of Beloit, Rock County,
- Wisconsin, Known as Eclipse Avenue.

- On motion of Ald. HANSEN all rules interfering with
the immediate passage of the ordinance were suspended by
- unanimous consent.
- On motion the ordinance was then read a third time in full.
- On motion of Ald. HANSEN the ordinance was numbered
67 and placed on its final passage and passed entitled as
- follows:

- Wisconsin, Known as Eclipse Avenue.

- The Mayor announced the appointment of C. L. PIKE
as special policeman without pay from the city at the Berlin
- Machine Works.
- On motion the appointment was confirmed.
- Ald. CUNNINGHAM moved that when the Council adjourn
it be to Monday, June 25th, 1900, at the usual time.
- Carried.
- Reports were received from the City Engineer of grades set
on Mill street, Bluff street, Elm street, West Bridge
- street and Kenwood avenue and Euclid avenue.
- On motion of Ald. CUNNINGHAM the grade as set on Elm
street was adopted.
- On motion of Ald. CLARKE the grade as set on Mill
street was adopted.
- The remaining grades reported were referred to the Aldermen
of the several wards in which situated.
- On motion of Ald. LEDELL the Health and Sewerage committee
were instructed to report on the sewer on the
- north side of Bridge street between Third and Fourth streets.
- On motion the Council then adjourned.
