Ald. LEDELL for the License committee reported recommending granting billiard and pool table licenses to the
following:

WESSELL Bros. & Co., two billiard and two pool tables at GOODWIN House at 409 State street.
Chas. F. MUELLER, one billiard and one pool table at 227 State street.
Chas. A. ROUSE, two billiard and two pool tables at 319 State street.
GARRIGAN & MURPHY, two billiards and one pool table at 353 Bridge street.
M. L. RYAN, one pool table at 214 Bridge street.
John BUCKLEY, two billiard and two pool tables at 219 Bridge street.
CARTER & HAMLET, one billiard and one pool table at 213 Bridge street.
Jay SLITER, one billiard and one pool table at 209 Bridge street.
On motion the report of the committee was adopted and licenses were granted as asked, to become effective and be
dated July 3rd, 1900.
Ald. LEDELL for the License committee presented the following resolution, which was adopted:

To the Honorable Mayor and Common Council: -
Your committee on License do hereby recommend the adoption of the following resolution:
Resolved, That the police force of the city be and are hereby directed to see that the ordinance
regulating the sale of intoxicating liquors is strictly complied with by those engaged in this business, and that saloon fixtures are arranged and kept as the ordinance provides; also that the rules regulating the use of licensed pool and billiard tables are more fully complied with.

Ald. LEDELL presented the following resolution, which was adopted:
Resolved, That the City Engineer be instructed to set grade stakes for sidewalks, subject to the approval of the
Council, on the west side of Elm street between Merrill and Liberty streets, on the east side of Vine street between Merrill and Liberty streets and on the north side of Liberty street between Bluff and Sixth streets.
Ald. BUCKERIDGE for the Health and Sewerage committee reported as follows:

Your committee to whom was referred the within petition respectfully recommend that the sewer in the
alley between Third and Fourth streets be built as soon as possible.

Ald. BUCKERIDGE for the Health and Sewerage committee reported on the resolution to allow the C. & N.W.
R.R. Co. to extend east side sewer outlet as follows:

Your Sewerage committee to whom was referred the within resolution respectfully recommend that
the same be referred to the Board of Public Works and City Engineer with power to act.

On motion of Ald. HANSEN the report was referred to the committee to ascertain the plans of the railway company
at that point and to report at the next meeting of the Council.
Ald. SHARP for the Aldermen of the Fourth ward reported recommending the adoption of grade on Euclid avenue
as set by the Engineer and changed by the committee, and also recommended the adoption of sidewalk grades as set by the Engineer on Kenwood avenue and on West Bridge street on the north side between Moore and West streets.
On motion the report and grades were adopted.
On motion the Council then adjourned.
