3. Take out the east stone wall in front of horses and put in suitable iron beams and posts to hold up
stone wall in 2nd store.
4. Put in new door and ceil up barn, and change stalls back 6 feet from where stone wall is at present.
Change other stalls to suit firemen.
5. Take down present bell tower and build a new tower 50 feet high at east end of lot.
6. Put in a new floor in building under present tower to hold coal and for store room purposes.
7. Put in a bath tub, closet and wash basin in the south east end of second story room, same to be
connected with main sewer on Fourth street. Room to be partitioned off of sufficient size to accommodate above fixtures.
8. Put on a good tin roof on present building.
9. Raise the sides of the present barn 4 feet high to allow more room for hay and grain. Same to have a
new tin roof.
10. Cut in a window in north side wall in second story.
11. Committee to put in any other changes they may deem necessary.
On motion both the report and the resolution were laid over until the next meeting of the Council.
Ald. MERRILL, for the Public Grounds committee, reported recommending the adoption of the resolution to
appropriate one hundred dollars for the purpose of beautifying the City Park. On motion the report and resolution were adopted by the unanimous vote of the Council, the ayes and noes being called.
Ald. LEDELL presented the following proposed ordinance, which was read the first time in full and the second time
by title and referred to the Judiciary committee:

            ORDINANCE NO. --.
An Ordinance to amend subdivision 9; section 110, Chapter XI, of Ordinance No. 50 of the ordinances of
the City of Beloit.
 
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Beloit do ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Subdivision 9 of section 110, Chapter XI, of Ordinance No. 50 of the ordinances of the
City of Beloit is hereby amended so as to read as follows:
9. It shall hereafter be unlawful for any person or persons licensed to vend, sell, deal or traffic in
strong, spirituous, malt, ardent or intoxicating liquors or drinks in the city of Beloit, between the hours of half past ten o'clock in the afternoon of any day and five o'clock in the forenoon of the next day, or at any time or hour of the first day of the week, commonly called Sunday, or at any time on the day commonly called Decoration or Memorial Day, to put, place, have, suffer or permit to be or remain, upon, in, in front of, across, or behind any glass door or windo, or any door or window opening into or out of, or lighting any room or place where any of the above named drinks or liquors are kept or sold, any curtain, screen, wire gauze, paint, stain, shutter, blind, cover, obstruction or any obstacle or thing of any description which could, or might prevent or obstruct a clear and distinct view of the bar and barroom and place where said drinks and liquors are kept or sold, from the street where the said place is located and from any door or window outside of such room or place.
It shall also be unlawful for any such person or persons so licensed to vend, sell, deal or traffic in
strong, spirituous, malt, ardent or intoxicating liquors or drinks in the City of Beloit, to, at any time, keep standing any partition or partitions, stall or stalls, drinking booth or drinking booths, or to keep separated from such room or place, by partition or otherwise, any portion thereof, which could or might obstruct a clear and distinct view of every part or portion of said room or place from in front of the bar therein.
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances inconsistent with or contrary to this ordinance
are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in force and take effect from and after its passage and publication.

    Ald. MERRILL presented the following resolution which was referred to the Street Lights committee:
    Resolved, That a street light be placed on the corner of Eleventh and Liberty street.
