Reports from the City Sexton for the months of June and July showing receipts of $43.00 for June and $62.00 for
July with Treasurer's receipts attached were received, accepted and placed on file.
Reports were received from the City Engineer of sidewalk grades set as follows:
On the west side of Park Ave. from Broad street to St. Paul Ave.
On south and east sides of Eclipse Ave. from Pleasant street to Park Place.
On south side of D street between Fifth street and Parker Ave.
On east side of Parker Ave. between D and E streets.
On south side of Bridge street from Hackett to Moore street.
On north side of Bridge street from Eighth street east 796 feet.
On east side of West street between E and F streets.
On south side of E street between McKinley Ave. and city limits.
On east side of Vine street from Middle to North street.
On west side of Fourth street from Middle to Liberty street.
On west side of Vine street between C and Merrill streets.
On south side of Merrill street between Bluff and Oak streets.
On east side of Oak street between C and Merrill streets.
On north side of Liberty street between Bluff and Sixth streets.
On east side of Vine street between Merrill and Liberty streets.
On west side of Elm street between Merrill and Liberty streets.
On motion the reports of the Engineer were referred to the Aldermen of the respective wards in which located.
A report from the City Engineer of grade for Back street was presented and referred to the Aldermen of the Fourth
ward.
The bonds of the licensed liquor dealers were presented and referred to the Judiciary committee.
Ald. NEEDHAM moved that the Council adjourn. Supported and lost by the following vote, the ayes and noes
being called:
Ayes - Ald. CLARKE, CUNNINGHAM, LEDELL, MUELLER, NEEDHAM - 5.
Noes - Ald. BUCKERIDGE, DAY, GARDNER, GESLEY, HANSEN, HELM, HEWITT, MERRILL,
POLLOCK, SHARP - 10.
Ald. POLLOCK, for the Judiciary committee, reported approving the proposed ordinance to amend subdivision 9 of
section 110, Chapter XI of Ordinance 50.
Ald. MUELLER moved to postpone action on same until the next meeting. Supported and lost by the following
vote, the ayes and noes being called:
Ayes - Ald. CLARKE - 1.
Noes - Ald. BUCKERIDGE, CUNNINGHAM, DAY, GARDNER, GESLEY, HANSEN, HELM,
HEWITT, MERRILL, MUELLER, NEEDHAM, POLLOCK, SHARP - 13.
Ald. LEDELL not voting.
Ald. HANSEN moved that the ordinance be read a third time and placed on its final passage. Carried.
The ordinance was then read a third time in full.
On motion of Ald. POLLOCK, the ordinance was numbered 69 and passed by the following vote, the ayes and noes
being called:
Ayes - Ald. BUCKERIDGE, CUNNINGHAM, DAY, GARDNER, GESLEY, HANSEN, HELM,
HEWITT, LEDELL, MERRILL, NEEDHAM, POLLOCK, SHARP - 13.
Noes - Ald. CLARKE, MUELLER - 2.
The ordinance was passed and entitled as follows:

              ORDINANCE NO. 69.
An Ordinance to amend subdivision 9, section 110, Chapter XI, of Ordinance No. 50 of the Ordinances of the
City of Beloit.
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Beloit do ordain as follows.

Ald. CUNNINGHAM moved that the Council adjourn. Supported and carried by the following vote, the ayes and
noes being called:
Ayes - Ald. CUNNINGHAM, DAY, GARDNER, GESLEY, HANSEN, HELM, HEWITT, POLLOCK,
SHARP - 9.
Noes - Ald. BUCKERIDGE, CLARKE, LEDELL, MERRILL, MUELLER, NEEDHAM - 6.
