adopted. On motion the report of the committee was adopted and light ordered.
Ald. CLARKE, for the Street Lights committee, reported on the resolution for an electric light at the intersection of
Eleventh and Liberty streets, recommending that the same be adopted. On motion the report of the committee was adopted and light ordered.
Ald. CLARKE, for the Street Lights committee, reported on the resolution for an electric light at the intersection of
W. Bridge and Hackett streets, recommending that the same be adopted. On motion the report of the committee was adopted and light ordered.
Ald. CLARKE, for the Street Lights committee, reported on the petition for an electric light at the intersection of D
street and Parker avenue, recommending that the same be adopted. On motion the report of the committee was adopted and light ordered.
Ald. CLARKE, for the Aldermen of the First ward, reported recommending the adoption of the sidewalk grade as
set by the engineer on the west side of Park avenue from Broad street to St. Paul avenue. On motion the report and grade were adopted.
Ald. MERRILL, for the Water Works committee, reported on the petition for extension of water mains on Elm and
C streets as follows:

We, the Water Works committee to whom the within petition were referred, respectfully recommend
that the petition not be granted at this time as no more extensions are considered advisable until the question of the Water Works purchase now pending is settled.

On motion the report was adopted.
Ald. HANSEN, for the Aldermen of the Second ward, reported recommending the adoption of the sidewalk grade
as set by the Engineer on the south and east sides of Eclipse avenue from Pleasant street to Park Place. On motion the report and grade were adopted.
Ald. DAY, for the Fire committee, reported recommending granting the petition of Fred BITTEL. On motion the
report was adopted and petition granted.
Ald. MUELLER presented the following resolution, which was adopted:
Resolved, That the City Engineer be and is hereby instructed to set stakes for sidewalk grade on south side of South
Race street.
Ald. MERRILL presented the following resolution, which was adopted:
Resolved, That the street light to be erected on the corner of Eleventh and Liberty streets, be an arc light of 2,000
candle power and to be erected on sixty foot poles.
Ald. CUNNINGHAM presented the following resolution, which was adopted:
Resolved, That the Board of Public Works be directed to clean out the gutter on the north side of D street, between
Fifth street and Parker avenue, and repair said street with crushed stone to keep same from washing down hill.
Ald. SHARP presented the following resolution, which was referred to the Public Property committee to report at
the [next] meeting of the council:
Resolved, That the partition in the north end of the Council room be moved near the window on the west side of the
room the north room thus formed, to be used as a police court.
Ald. CUNNINGHAM presented the following resolution, which was adopted:
Resolved, That the Board of Public Work[s] be directed to build a brick cross walk across Elm street on south side
of D street.
On motion of Ald. HANSEN, the Aldermen of the several wards were authorized to secure registry and voting
places for the coming election.
Ald. HANSEN presented the following resolution, which was adopted:
Resolved, That the Board of Public Works be and hereby are directed to cause all guy wires attached to the trees in
the public grounds of the city to be removed at once.
