Ald. BUCKERIDGE presented the following resolution which was laid over and the Board of Public Works
directed to investigate and see if the terms of the contract have been complied with:
Resolved, That an order for $360.44 be drawn on the Treasurer payable to HARDING & NELSON, in full
payment of the abutting property sewer taxes assessed against city properties as follows:
Ctf. No. 230 City Park, School street and Park avenue $279.75
Ctf. No. 266 Mechanics Green, Harrison avenue 69.44
Ctf. No. 327 Central Fire Station, Fourth street 11.25
$360.44
Ald. POLLOCK presented the following resolution which was adopted:
Resolved, That the Board of Public Works be instructed to put Euclid avenue east of Eighth street in proper
condition for use as a public thoroughfare.
Notice of injury was received from Thomas BIRDITT and referred to the Judiciary committee and City Attorney.
Ald. DAY presented the following resolution which was adopted:
Resolved, That your Fire committee be and is hereby instructed to cause the fire alarm tower to be repaired by
putting in new platform 20 or 25 feet below the present one, and lower the bell and apparatus down upon it; cut off the above 20 or 25 feet, hang the bell and roof over, put on new braces where needed and other repairs under direction of the Fire Chief; also repair roof on Station to prevent leakage; also to repair or reshingle the barn and coal shed roofs.
Ald. LEDELL moved to adjourn. Supported and lost by the following vote, the ayes and noes being called:
Ayes - Ald. CLARKE, CUNNINGHAM, GARDNER, HANSEN, LEDELL, MUELLER - 6.
Noes - Ald. BUCKERIDGE, DAY, GESLEY, HELM, HEWITT, MERRILL, NEEDHAM, POLLOCK,
SHARP - 9.
The proposed sewer ordinance was taken from the table.
Ald. BUCKERIDGE moved that the ordinance be read a third time in full and placed on its final passage. Carried.
The ordinance was then read a third time in full.
Ald. BUCKERIDGE moved that the ordinance be number 71 and that it do now pass. Supported and adopted
and the ordinance passed entitled as follows:

ORDINANCE NO. 71.
An Ordinance to provide for the construction of a main sewer in the street or alley sometimes called "Rouse Street" in Sewerage District C; to provide for the payment of the same and for the contract for constructing said sewer.
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Beloit do ordain:

The vote on the passage of the ordinance was as follows, the ayes and noes being called:
Ayes - Ald. BUCKERIDGE, CUNNINGHAM, DAY, GARDNER, GESLEY, HANSEN, HELM,
HEWITT, LEDELL, MERRILL, MUELLER, NEEDHAM, POLLOCK - 13.
Noes - Ald. CLARKE, SHARP - 2.
On motion, the Council then adjourned.
