race and running back to the river with street in front and railroad tracks to the rear in the center of city.
Situated upon this land is the following property:
  • 1 wood frame pump and storage building.
  • 1 7 ft. diameter tubular wood flume with wheel pit.
  • 1 55 inch Houston water wheel and connections.
  • 1 FAIRBANKS million gallon power pump connected to water wheel.
  • 5 artesian wells connected therewith, flowing 750,000 gallons daily.
  • 1 stone fireproof pumphouse building 85 ft. long by 40 ft. wide with flume and wheel pit.
  • 1 60 in. Houston water wheel with connections.
  • 1 45 inch Sampson water wheel with connections, both wheels couple up to be run separate or together on either or both pumps and capable of running against fire pressure of 125 pounds.
  • 2 FAIRBANKS million gallon power pumps connected with water wheels.
  • 18 artesian 4 inch wells with capacity of 2,000,000 gallons daily connected with pumps.
  • 2100 inches or about one sixth of the entire water power of the Beloit Water Power company, estimated under 8 ft. head at 150 horsepower.
  • Between 14 and 15 miles of water mains, mostly 6 and 8 inch pipe, with main supply from both stations of 12-inch, and 10-inch feeders on different streets on both sides of the river, and 4-inch on cross street connections, short distances, together with the regular specials for each street crossing, with gates leading off from each main, all constructed in the most approved manner and laid 6 ft. cover in gravel and guaranteed to be in perfect condition. MEMORANDUM OF WATERWORKS PROPERTY.
EAST SIDE PUMPING STATION.
Real estate about four acres in block by itself, one-half mile from Post Office, fronting on Pleasant
street, Eclipse avenue and Park place with sewers and water mains.
Situated on this land is the following property:
  • 1 massive stone tower with 100,000 gallon reservoir on top.
  • 1 brick pump and boiler house and engineer's residence.
  • 2 million gallon compound Smith-Vale steam engine.
  • 1 high duty FAIRBANKS pump, (600,000 gallons).
  • 2 sixty-five horse power steel boilers with Butman settings.
  • 1 boiler feed pump together with all gates, valves, suctions and connections for pumps and boilers.
  • 1 brick well 30 ft. diameter, 40 ft. deep with roof, open spring bottom and 24 driven well tubes, with capacity of 1,500,00 gallons daily.
  • 1 tenement house for helper.
  • 1 coal shed.

Ald. CUNNINGHAM moved that the resolution be adopted. Supported.
On request of the Council, Mr. SALMON of the Waterworks Co. came before the meeting in explanation of the
company's offer.
Ald. POLLOCK moved that the report be re-referred to the committee to embody therein statements made by Mr.
SALMON. Supported and lost.
Ald. HANSEN moved that when the Council adjourn it be to one week from this night, being Dec. 10, at the usual
time. Carried.
Ald. HANSEN moved that the report be re-referred and that the matter be made the special order of business at the
adjourned meeting. Supported and carried by the following vote, the ayes and noes being called:
