The minutes of the meeting of Dec. 17th and 23rd, 1900, were read and approved.
The following bills having been audited by the Clerk and payment recommended, on motion were allowed and
ordered paid by the unanimous vote of the Council, the ayes and noes being called:

A bill of the Beloit Electric Co. for $31.72 for lighting election purpose was recommended for payment in amount of
$26.72 and allowed in that amount by the unanimous vote of the Council, the ayes and noes being called.
A bill of the Beloit Electric Co. for $371.90, for street lights was referred to the Street Lights Committee.
Ald. HELM, for the First ward, presented the following report on the petition for crosswalk on Central avenue
across Hubbard place:

Your First Ward Committee to whom was referred the within petition respectfully recommend that it be
granted.

On motion the report was adopted and petition granted.
Ald. HELM, for the Water Works Committee, reported the receipt of a number of letters in regard to the
appointment of an appraiser for the City in the matter of the purchase of the water works.
Ald. POLLOCK, for the Fire committee, reported recommending the payment of John CLIFF for $6.00 for
specifications for repairs to fire station. On motion the report was adopted and bill allowed by the unanimous vote of the Council, the ayes and noes being called.
Ald. POLLOCK presented the following resolution which was referred to the Street Lights committee:
Resolved, That a street light either gas or incandescent electric light, be placed near the northwest corner of the High
School building.
Ald. POLLOCK presented the following resolution which was adopted by the unanimous vote of the Council, the
ayes and noes being called:
Resolved, That the sum of ($5.00) Five dollars be and the same is hereby appropriated to pay Mr. _. THOMAS
for maintaining an oil street light on Fifth street and that the City Clerk be authorized to issue an order for the same.
Ald. HANSEN presented the following resolution which was adopted by the unanimous vote of the Council, the
ayes and noes being called:
Resolved, That the sum of three thou-
