The ordinance was then read a third time in full.
Ald. POLLOCK moved that the ordinance be numbered 72 and that it do now pass. Supported and adopted and
the ordinance passed entitled as follows:

            ORDINANCE NO. 72.
An ordinance to vacate an alley running east and west through the center of Block Two of FLUEKIGER's
Second Addition to Beloit, Wis.
The Mayor and Common Council of the city of Beloit, do ordain:
Ald CLARKE, for the Street Lights committee, reported on the communication of the Beloit Electric company,
recommending an allowance of $25 of the amount deducted from their December bill. On motion the report was adopted and allowance made by the unanimous vote of the Council, the ayes and noes being called.
Ald. BUCKERIDGE presented the following resolution which was adopted:
Resolved, That this council does not consent to, nor concur in, the withdrawal of the Beloit Water Works Co. of its
proposal previously made and acted upon by the city of Beloit, relative to the cost of appraising its system of water works in this city.
On motion the Council then adjourned.

Present - Ald. BUCKERIDGE, CUNNINGHAM, GESLEY, HELM, HEWITT, LEDELL, MERRILL,
MUELLER, NEEDHAM, SHARP - 10.
Absent - Ald. CLARKE, DAY, GARDNER, HANSEN, POLLOCK - 5.
Ald. BUCKERIDGE presented a proposed ordinance entitled as follows:

              AN ORDINANCE
GRANTING TO THE ROCK RIVER ELECTRIC RAILWAY COMPANY, ITS SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS,
THE USE OF THE PUBLIC STREETS, PUBLIC WAYS AND BRIDGES OF THE CITY OF BELOIT, WISCONSIN, FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION OF AN ELECTRIC RAILWAY THEREON.
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Beloit do ordain as follows:
On motion the ordinance was read the first time in full, the second time by title and referred to the Judiciary committee
and city attorney.
Ald. BUCKERIDGE presented a proposed ordinance entitled as follows:

              AN ORDINANCE
GRANTING TO H. H. CLOUGH, HIS SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, THE RIGHT TO EXTEND ITS TRACK
INTO THE CITY OF BELOIT, WIS., AND TO CONSTRUCT, MAINTAIN AND OPERATE AN ELECTRIC RAILROAD IN CERTAIN STREETS THEREIN NAMED, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SAID STREETS AND AVENUES MAY BE USED AND OCCUPIED BE THE SAID RAILROAD.
SECTION 1: BE IT ORDAINED by the Aldermen of the city of Beloit,Wis.:
On motion the ordinance was read the first time in full, the second time by title and referred to the Judiciary committee
and City attorney.
On motion of Ald. BUCKERIDGE, the Judiciary committee were authorized to incur expense, not to exceed
$100.00, in investigation as to proposed street railway franchises.
On motion the Council adjourned.
