- Ald. POLLOCK presented the following petition, which
was referred to the Aldermen of the Fifth ward:
|
- To the Honorable Mayor and Common Council
of the City of Beloit:
- Gentlemen: -
- The undersigned petition your Honorable Body
to order the opening up of Fourth street - north from
- the north line of North street to Maple avenue
in "Twin Oaks Addition to Beloit," extended east across
C.&N.W.R.R. to intersect with said Fourth street.
- A condition exists necessitating the opening
of this street to accommodate a number of the
- undersigned petitioners who are owners of
property in said "Twin Oaks Addition" and expect to
build there the ensuing season. The railway management have prudently
forbidden foot traffic on their tracks extending in this direction
and the opening of Fourth street would constitute a short and
direct highway to the city for both foot passengers and traffic.
- Dated: Beloit, Feb. 14, 1901.
