from Hoboken, on S.S. George Washington, Feb. 16, 1918; landed
at Brest, March 4th. Trained at Luchey, near Longres. Served
on: the Aisne-Marne front; Meuse-Argonne front; Defensive sector
in Alsace. Sergeant PURDY was wounded north of Chateau Thierry,
Aug. 1, 1918. He rejoined his company the latter part of Sept.,
just before the Division went into the Argonne, and remained
with them till he was gassed on Oct. 7, 1918. Sent from hospital
to Brest, where he embarked for home, March 10, 1919, on Battleship

arm by machine gun bullet. In Red Cross Hospital No. 2 in Paris
