Extracts from Letters of the Boys With the Colors

(Copied from Newspapers)
From Private Vene Graham (p. 104)

France, June 18, 1918.

"Am beginning to get more mail now. Got ten letters this morning. I am also receiving some of the papers. Have not seen
any of the home boys since I have been here, except Wilburt Murphy, and that was several weeks ago.
"The weather here is fine now, getting warmer, and the grain and garden stuff are looking fine. This is a beautiful country
and does not seem possible such a great war is going on so near.
"There are lots of things I wish I could write but they will not allow it, so I will have to wait until I can tell them, which we
all hope will be soon. Although I can not write much will try and write a little as often as I can.
"Will close now. Do not worry about me. Hope you get all my letters and that all are well."

Your loving son,

VENE GRAHAM.
