"I was out and helped put the large shell in the cannons
last week. It is fun working around the cannons. Dear folks,
don't worry about me at all for I am fine. I am willing to
do anything that is for the good of our country and you folks,
and you know I am no better than any one else and must do my
duty. I am sure getting tanned up in good shape and I think I
am getting fat too."
