©1921 Brodhead, Wisconsin (Cantwell Printing Co., Madison, Wis.)
Extracts from Letters of the Boys With the Colors
(Copied from Newspapers)
From Private Victor Zimmerman (p. 120)
France, May 9, 1918.
"Had a fine trip across the big ocean. Saw a few whales and sharks. We sunk one submarine on the way over. France is
a real nice country. They surely use us fine. We are not allowed to write much about what we are doing, so will have to save that till I get home."
