DIED - HUFF
We are considerably pained last week to hear of the sudden and unexpected death of
Mr. Samuel HUFF, of Magnolia. He was not well and called Dr. T. STAIR of this place, Monday morning. The doctor attended him as well as he was able to do, but from the first he realized he had a severe case of pneumonia to contend with, but resolved to do his best. In spite of kind care and the best of skill, he lingered until Tuesday night, January 24th, 1888, when he passed hence. His age was 67 years.
We are not familiar with Mr. HUFF's early life, but have known him casually for
several years, and always found him an honest, upright christian gentleman, endeavoring to do just right with all; and more, we have always heared him well spoken of by his neighbors. He was a member of the Magnolia M. E. church, and leaves a family grown to maturity, besides an extensive circle of friends and neighbors to deplore his loss, - happily his gain. [p. 4, col. 3]
