Mrs. Geo. A. BACKENSTOE, aged 90 years, died about midnight Tuesday, March 6th, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary MAGEE of Beloit. Funeral services will be held in Beloit at 12 o'clock Friday and the remains will be brought by auto to this city for burial. The family resided in this city for many years and will be remembered by the older residents here. Mrs. BACKENSTOE's maiden name was Ellen [M.] HOXIE and she was married to Geo. A. BACKENSTOE in 1847. Her husband died in 1895. She leaves five children; Mrs. Lizzie ENSIGN, Mrs. Mary MAGEE, and Charles BACKENSTOE, all of Beloit; Mrs. Kate RICHARDSON of South Dakota, and Mrs. Maud HOISINGTON of Dodgeville.   Courtesy of Ruth Ann Montgomery.
