[OBITUARY -] Geo. ZANZINGER, Retired Farmer, Dies at Age 80
George ZANZINGER, Sr., 80, retired farmer and a Rock county resident since
1885, died Tuesday afternoon in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Leo GRANGER, Black Bridge road. He was born in Wittenberg, Germany, Jan. 1, 1860, and came to Rock county in August, 1885, locating on a farm near Emerald Grove. He married Miss Margaret HESSENAUER, Janesville, June 12, 1888. They lived on farms in Rock county until 1933 when they located in Janesville.

... two daughters, Mrs. Fred SCHLUETER and Mrs. Leo GRANGER, both of Harmony; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in St. John's Lutheran church, with the Rev.
John R. Keiser to officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery. [The] body will be removed from the Whaley-Overton funeral home to the Leo GRANGER home Thursday afternoon.

[FUNERAL NOTICE -] Funeral of George ZANZINGER
The funeral of George ZANZINGER, retired farmer, was held at 2 p.m. Friday in
St. John's Lutheran church, with the Rev. John R. Keiser officiating. Mrs. Arthur MARKO and Mrs. George BUEHL gave the song service. Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery. Pallbearers were Adolph SIEWERT, Alvin GOLDSMITH, Leonard VOGEL, William KREBS, Christ WESTENDORF and Frank SPLINTER.

Milton - Mrs. A. L. WHITFORD [nee Philena Vernetta WOOLWORTH], 88,
died at 5:30 Tuesday afternoon in the home of her daughter, Mrs. T. E. THOMAS, Milton, after an illness of several months.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. THOMAS, Milton and Mrs. F. C.
VINCENT, Milton Junction; and five sons, H. E. and K. D. both of Albion, W. W. of Indian Ford, L. B., Milton Junction, and E. W. WHITFORD, Lincoln, Calif. Her husband preceded her in death on Oct. 25, 1937.
Mrs. WHITFORD lived for many years at Albion, and later at Milton Junction, more
recently she had lived in Milton and since the death of her husband had lived with her daughter.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Seventh Day Baptist church,
Milton Junction, and burial will be in Albion cemetery. Friends may call at the Gray and Albrecht funeral home in Milton Junction Wednesday evening. [Wednesday edition, p. 7]
