Milton - Mrs. Charlotte DAVIS, 65, widow of Attorney W. DAVIS of this village,
died at her home Wednesday after an illness of several months.
Charlotte Louise CRUMB, the youngest daughter of Carlton W. and Mary Jane
DOWSE CRUMB, was born on a farm near Walworth Jan. 17, 1876. She attended the public schools and also Milton college. For nine years she lived with her sister Dr. Gertrude CRUMB, Berlin, Wis.
On April 25, 1908, she was married to Grant W. DAVIS, Adams Center, N.Y., and
they made their home at Adams Center until coming to Milton in 1914. They built the DAVIS home here at that time. Mr. DAVIS died April 28, 1933.
Mrs. DAVIS was a member of the Seventh Day Baptist church of Milton since she
was 12 years old with the exception of the time she lived in New York.
Survivors are one daughter, Miss Gertrude CRUMB, one brother, Oscar CRUMB,
one sister, Mrs. Lester M. BABCOCK; three nieces, all of Milton; as well as several cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Carroll L. Hill, pastor of
the Seventh Day Baptist church, will officiate and burial will be in the Milton cemetery. [Thursday edition, p. 4]
