- Milton - Mrs. Charlotte DAVIS, 65, widow of Attorney
W. DAVIS of this village,
- died at her home Wednesday after an illness of several months.
- Charlotte Louise CRUMB, the youngest daughter of Carlton
W. and Mary Jane
- DOWSE CRUMB, was born on a farm near Walworth Jan.
17, 1876. She attended the public schools and also Milton college.
For nine years she lived with her sister Dr. Gertrude CRUMB,
Berlin, Wis.
- On April 25, 1908, she was married to Grant W. DAVIS,
Adams Center, N.Y., and
- they made their home at Adams Center until coming to Milton
in 1914. They built the DAVIS home here at that time.
Mr. DAVIS died April 28, 1933.
- Mrs. DAVIS was a member of the Seventh Day Baptist
church of Milton since she
- was 12 years old with the exception of the time she lived
in New York.
- Survivors are one daughter, Miss Gertrude CRUMB, one
brother, Oscar CRUMB,
- one sister, Mrs. Lester M. BABCOCK; three nieces,
all of Milton; as well as several cousins.
- Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev.
Carroll L. Hill, pastor of
- the Seventh Day Baptist church, will officiate and burial
will be in the Milton cemetery. [Thursday edition, p. 4]
