- [OBITUARY -] Allen J. PIERCE, 79, 449 N. Pine St.,
a Janesville resident for 75 years, died at 6.40 a.m. Wednesday
in Mercy hospital. He had been in failing health several years.
- Born in Mineral Point July 29, 1885, he was the son of Wilbur
and Marilda ROWE PIERCE. He married Caroline SALHOFF.
- A retired construction worker, he had been on the Janesville
Fire Department in his
- early life.
- Surviving are two sons, Allen Jr., Rte. 3, Fort Atkinson,
and Robert, Rte. 2, Colfax,
- Wis.; one daughter, Mrs. Viola WEINS, Janesville;
10 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs.
Edith PHFISTER, Beloit, and Mrs. Etta HODSON, South
Beloit. Two sisters predeceased him.
- Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Reining Funeral
Home, the Rev. Donald
- Docken, St. John's Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will
be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home
Friday evening.
