- MILTON - W[alter] Guy POLAN, 89, formerly of 345 E.
Madison St., died
- yesterday at Caravilla where he had been a patient for the
past year.
- Mr. POLAN came to Milton in 1920 and joined the faculty
of Milton Union High
- School where he taught science and coached athletics. He
later joined Burdick Corporation and held a position there until
his retirement in 1949.
- Born Nov. 29, 1879, in Dodder County, W. Va., he later moved
to Jackson Center,
- Ohio, where he was a teacher 12 years and served a term as
district superintendent. He was married there to Norma JONES
Aug. 16, 1911. He was a member of the Seventh Day Baptist Church.
- Surviving are three sons, Neil of Janesville, Roger and Russell,
both of Santa Barbara,
- Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Charles WHITFORD and
Mrs. Herbert CROUCH, both of Milton, and Mrs. A. P. LOOMER,
Green Bay; 24 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister,
Mrs. Roy POTTER, Fort Meyers, Fla., and a brother Herbert
POLAN, Livonia, Mich.
- Mrs. POLAN died in late 1963 and a son, Robert, twin
brother of Roger, died in
- 1945 in France while serving in world War II.
- Services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the church with burial
in Milton Cemetery.
- Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight at the Albrecht Funeral
