[OBITUARY -] Mrs. Theresia BAUMGARTNER
ELKHORN - Mrs. Theresia BAUMGARTNER, 84, of Lake Wandewega, Rt. 1,
Elkhorn, died Sunday [January 2, 1977] at Lakeland Nursing Home.
The former Theresia HUBINGER was born Sept. 24, 1892, in St. Rordan, Austria,
and was married to Henry BAUMGARTNER. The couple lived in Chicago until his death in 1949 when Mrs. BAUMGARTNER came to Elkhorn.
Surviving is a sister in Austria.
Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Derksen Funeral Home, followed by a crema-
tion at Wisconsin Memorial Park.

[OBITUARY -] Mrs. Nina CORWITH
JEFFERSON - Services for Mrs. Nina Katherine CORWITH, 90, of 420 E. Dodge,
who died Monday [January 3, 1977] in a Milwaukee nursing home, are at 2 p.m. Thursday in Minshall-Olsen Funeral Home, with burial in Union Cemetery.
The former Nina K. BEHN was born Dec. 21, 1886, at Reedsburg and was married
there Sept. 29, 1915, to John W. CORWITH. They moved to Jefferson 54 years ago and Mrs. CORWITH was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Her husband died in 1971.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Marion BERA, and a granddaughter, both of
Milwaukee.

[OBITUARY -] Alfred DeBELL
BOONE, N.C. - Alfred J. DeBELL, 51, of 220 Blowing Rock Rd., Boone, N.C.,
died Monday [January 3, 1977] after a brief illness.
He was born in Kenosha, came to Janesville with his parents, the late Lee and Rose
PEDERSEN DeBELL, and resided here for some time. He was a real estate broker in Boone and owner-operator of Leisure Land Realty Co.
Surviving are his wife; two sons and a daughter, Lee, Miami, Fla., Steven and Kristine
at home; and a sister, Mrs. Winifred YOUNGS, Mudelein, Ill.
Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday in United Methodist Church, Boone. Friends may
call at Hampton Funeral Service Chapel, Boone, today.

[OBITUARY -] Mrs. Esther ENAULT
ELKHORN - Mrs. Esther ENAULT, 84, of Rt. 4, Elkhorn, died Monday [January
3, 1977] at Lakeland Nursing Home.
The former Esther ANDERSON, born Dec. 3, 1892, in Chicago, was married there
to William ENAULT, and had lived in Elkhorn the past 35 years. Her husband died in 1966.
Surviving are two sons, John, Chicago, and William, Hoffman Estates, Ill.; two
daughters, Mrs. Charles DUGAN and Mrs. Patricia LUBIN, both of Elkhorn; nine grandchildren.
Services and burial will be Wednesday in Chicago.
Derksen Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

[OBITUARY -] Mrs. Alfred HAKE
FORT ATKINSON - Services for Mrs. Alfred HAKE, 84, formerly of Rt. 3, Fort
Atkinson, and Fort Atkinson Convalescent Center, who died Monday [January 3, 1977] at Memorial Hospital, are at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Dunlap Memorial Home, with burial in Rock River Cemetery, rural Jefferson.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
The former Jane ROHERER was born March 16, 1892, at Evanston, Ill., and was
married to Alfred HAKE of Jefferson Feb. 27, 1914. She had lived most of her life in the area and was a member of Faith Community Church. Her husband died in 1969.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Carroll LEIN, Rockdale; five grandchildren; 13 great-
grandchildren; four brothers, John, Elkhorn, Samuel in Indiana, George in Texas, and James, Kalamazoo, Mich.

[OBITUARY -] Emanuel HILT
Emanuel E. HILT, 68, of 1620 Myra Ave., was dead on arrival at Mercy Hospital
Monday [January 3, 1977] after an apparent heart attack at his home.
He was born March 23, 1910, in Janesville, and was married to Marie DINEEN
July 3, 1931, in Crown Point, Ind.
Mr. HILT was employed 18 years at the Janesville General Motors plant and then
for several years at Libby's until retiring in 1973. He also was a bartender at HILT's Bar and Sig's Bar, and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and Bartenders Union Local 444.
Surviving are his wife; five sons, Frank, Richard, Charles, William and Thomas, all of
Janesville; three daughters, Mrs. Mary SEVERANCE and Mrs. Bonnie FREDENDALL, both of Janesville, and Mrs. Larry (Frances) TAINTER, West Bend; 27 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, John, Janesville, and a sister, Mrs. Margaret GAMPER, Glenview, Ill.
Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday in Overton Funeral Home from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9
p.m. Wednesday.

[OBITUARY -] Prof. INGLIS, Retired from Milton, Dies
MILTON - Prof. Dean [David] Nelson INGLIS, 94, 704 Madison, a professor at
Milton College for 44 years and called The Grand Old Man of the Campus when he retired in 1954, died Sunday [January 2, 1977] at Rock Haven where he had lived the past two years.
"Professor Si," as he was known to hundreds of students during his years at Milton
College, came to Milton from Marquette, Wis., to attend the old Milton Academy in 1899, and a graduate of Milton College, was associated with the college for 55 years before retiring.
He taught French and Spanish at Milton College for 44 years, longer than any other
instructor on the faculty, and during his years there had either been a student with or teacher with every president the college had had.
He was active in community affairs, serving on the Village Board 10 years, as
secretary-treasurer of Milton Savings and Loan Association for 27 years, as justice of the peace in 1933-34, and as president of the Milton Historical Society in 1948-49. He was a member and deacon of Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church.
Born Jan. 1, 1883, at Marquette, where he received his early education, he had lived
in Milton most of his life and was married to Tacy ROOD Aug. 9, 1905. His wife came from North Loup, Neb., to attend Milton Academy where the couple met. She died Feb. 11, 1973.
In 1969 Prof. INGLIS was one of 15 members of Milton Seventh Day Baptist
Church honored for long membership, having joined the church in 1902. In 1935 he was elected president of the Seventh Day Baptist Conference at Alfred, N.Y., serving several years in the post.
Following his retirement Prof. INGLIS and his wife traveled extensively, spending
winters in Florida, California or Texas with relatives for many years.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lois SMITH, Newville; two grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren.
Services are at 2 p.m. Friday in Seventh Day Baptist church, with burial in Milton
Cemetery.

[OBITUARY -] Fred E. JONES
Fred E. JONES, 62, of 1505 Tamarack, died this morning at Mercy Hospital where
he was admitted Monday.
He was born Jan. 21, 1914, in Milwaukee and was married there to Helen
BARTHULL July 8, 1939. He was a World War II Navy veteran, and since coming to Janesville 28 years ago had been employed as a jig and fixture builder at the local General Motors plant. He was a member of UAW Local 95.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Thomas E., Madison, and Warren B., at home; and
a grandson.
Overton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for cremation. There will be no
service or visitation at the funeral home.

[OBITUARY -] Mrs. Hazel KINNA
Mrs. Hazel H. KINNA, 81, of 285 Rockport, died Monday [January 3, 1977] at
Rock Haven after anillness.
The former Hazel HOVELAND [HOVLAND] was born April 4, 1895, in Janesville
and was married to Henry VOLBRECHT April 22, 1912. He died in 1945. She was married to Kenneth KINNA July 16, 1947. He died in 1973.
Mrs. KINNA was a lifelong Janesville resident and member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Albert VOLBRECHT, Apple Valley, Calif.; six daughters, Mrs.
Marian PRESS, Mrs. Virginia PFEIFFER and Mrs. Donna PFEIFFER, all of Janesville, Mrs. Lucille PERRIGO, Rockford, Mrs. Betty MOWER, Kewanee, Ill., and Mrs. Jacqueline HESSIAN, Loves Park, Ill.; 22 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Thomas JOYCE and Mrs. Georgean YEOMANS, both of Janesville.
Services at Overton Funeral Home are at 1 p.m. Thursday, with burial in Oak Hill
Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

[OBITUARY -] Vincent MEYERHOFER
LAKE GENEVA - Vincent W. MEYERHOFER, 65, of 1130 Madison, died
Monday [January 3, 1977] at Lakeland Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. MEYERHOFER was owner-operator of the M & S Service Station for 26
years, retiring two years ago due to ill health.
He was born April 19, 1911, in Bloomfield township, Walworth County, and was
married to Dorothy SKINNER Oct. 30, 1937, in Lake Geneva. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and a lifelong Lake Geneva resident.
Surviving are his wife; and a sister, Mrs. Nick HILBERT, Lake Geneva.
Services are at 9:30 a.m. Friday in Steinke Funeral Home and at 10 in St. Francis
Church, with burial at Hillside Cemetery, Genoa City.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home where the service of
the wake will be read at 7:30 p.m.

[OBITUARY -] Dorothy RICHMOND
EVANSVILLE - Miss Dorothy W. RICHMOND, 79, of 129 W. Main, died
Monday [January 3, 1977] at Continental Manor Nursing Home.
Miss RICHMOND, born March 1, 1897, in Evansville, was a graduate of Evansville
High School and Milwaukee Downer College. Her father, R. M. RICHMOND, was a longtime Evansville attorney. The only survivor is a cousin in Birmingham, Mich.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Allen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. There is no visitation.
