- Maurice [Alva] VAN HORN, 76, of Route 1, Kemp Road,
Avalon, died Monday
- afternoon in Mercy Hospital after a brief illness.
- Born Sept. 21, 1902, in Milton, he married Ethel MacARTHUR
on June 3, 1925.
- Mr. VAN HORN farmed in the town of Bradford and served
as the township assessor for many years. In addition, he was
a member of both the Prairie View and Bradford Consolidated school
boards.
- Surviving are his wife; a son, John of Moscow, Idaho; two
grandchildren; a brother,
- Willis of Appleton; and two sisters, Mrs. Josephine MATTHEWS
of Florida and Mrs. Chloe HEMPHILL of Eugene, Ore.
- Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Overton Funeral
Home with burial in Milton
- Lawns Memorial Park. Friends may call Thursday at the funeral
home from 2 p.m. until time of service. Memorials may be made
to the Emerald Grove Congregational Church. [Tuesday edition,
