Mrs. Illa L[ottie] WENZEL, 76, of 930 N. Washington, died at home Monday
following an apparent heart attack.
Born Aug. 14, 1903, in Welton, Iowa, the former Illa HURLEY married Fritz L.
WENZEL on Sept. 2, 1937, in Milton. They made their home in Beloit until moving to Janesville in 1945. He died Oct. 12, 1976.
Mrs. WENZEL worked at Freeman Shoe Co., Beloit, for more than 25 years and
was a member of its Quarter Century Club. She was also a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church and its LWML.
Surviving are a son, Phillip C. MAZE of Janesville, and a brother, Lester HURLEY
of Tempe, Ariz.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Mount Calvary Lutheran Church with burial in
Plymouth Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 3 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Overton Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the church or American Heart Association. [Wednesday edition, p. 4]
