Charles B. WITHINGTON, a jeweler by trade, was a Janesville resident who perfected the
modern grain binder.
He invented a binder using twine and another using wire.
These inventions were sold to the McCormick Co. and WITHINGTON returned to Janesville
where he operated a jewelry store on the Corn Exchange.
