Dump truck hits, kills motorcyclist
A 22-year-old Janesville man died of injuries suffered when his motorcycle collided
with a dump truck on Highway 11 at Highway 184 west of Janesville at 11:55 a.m. Tuesday.
Michael T. BRERETON, 2211 Ruger, was driving his motorcycle west on Highway
11 when a dump truck driven by Merlyn J. MILLER, 60, Monroe, entered Highway 11 from Highway 184. MILLER was given a citation for failure to yield from a stop sign by Rock County sheriff's deputies.
Emergency rescue units from Orfordville and Footville responded to the accident
scene along with Janesville paramedics.
BRERETON was transported to Mercy Hospital, where he died.

JANESVILLE - Michael Todd BRERETON, age 22, of 2211 Ruger Ave., died
Tuesday, Sept. 11, 1990, at Mercy Hospital, following a motor vehicle accident. He was born on July 21, 1968, in Janesville, the son of Geoffrey and Jane (LAWRENCE) BRERETON. He graduated from Craig High School in 1986 and had resided in Janesville all his life. He was employed by the Beloit Corporation.
He is survived by his parents, Geoffrey and Jane BRERETON of Janesville; a
brother, James (Chris) BRERETON of Janesville; a nephew, Jesse BRERETON; maternal grandmother, Alice LAWRENCE of Janesville; paternal grandfather, James BRERETON of North Port, FL; and a dear friend, Kate STROMER of Janesville. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Francis LAWRENCE, and grandmother, Elsie BRERETON.
Funeral services will be Fri., Sept. 14, at 11:00 a.m. at the SCHNEIDER FUNERAL
HOME with Rev. George McKilligin officiating. Burial will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Friends may call on Thurs. from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME. [Wednesday, p. 2B]
