- Ellen [McGlade] NELSON WHITFORD, age 88, died Mon.,
Feb. 28, 1994, at
- Rock Haven. She was born April 12, 1905 in Janesville, the
daughter of Horatio and Ellen (McGLADE) NELSON.
She lived in Janesville and Milton most of her life, except
between 1951 and 1961 she lived in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She married
William O. WHITFORD Oct. 28, 1926, in Beloit; he died
Nov. 13, 1961. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church,
Milton.
- She is survived by three daughters: Suzanne (Robert) FETHERSTON
of Lynchburg,
- VA, Ruth Ellen DRAHEIM of Seattle, WA, and Catherine
(Greg) CASWELL of Front Royal, VA; 6 grandchildren; 2
great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Mary Lou WHITFORD
of Milton. She was preceded in death by a son, William N. WHITFORD;
a brother, John H. NELSON; and 2 sisters, Marie ROHERTY
and Lil MULQUIN.
- Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thurs., March
3, at Schneider Funeral
- Home, Janesville, with Rev. McEnery officiating. Burial
will be in Milton Cemetery, Milton. Memorials may be made to
Rock Haven. [Wednesday edition, p. 2B]
