Charles L.
- JANESVILLE - Charles L. PRESS, age 94, of 720 Violet
St., died Sat., Jan. 21,
- 1995, at Janesville Health Care Center. He was born in Janesville
on Nov. 2, 1900, the son of William and Anna (JOHNSON)
PRESS. Charles married Marian VOLBRECHT on March
28, 1931; she died Sept. 3, 1977. Mr. PRESS was a Janesville
resident his entire life and was employed for 50 years as a painter
by the F. L. SHADEL & Son Painting Contractors. He
was a membef of First Baptist Church and Painters Local #802,
where he served as its president for many years.
- Surviving are 5 children: Charlene (Robert) HEFTY,
William (Elaine) PRESS, Mary
- Ann (Wayne) LOASCHING, all of Janesville, James PRESS
of Pasadena, CA, and Linda (Jeffrey) WEIS of Janesville;
17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren. In addition to his
wife and parents, Charles was preceded in death by a son, Rick
Alan PRESS; and a brother, William PRESS.
- Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tues., Jan. 24
at SCHNEIDER
- FUNERAL HOME, Janesville, with Rev. Sam Brink officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00
until 8:00 p.m. Monday at SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME.

Richard R.
- WHITEWATER - Richard R. SCHOONOVER, age 72, died Fri.,
Jan. 20, 1995,
- at Fort Atkinson Health Care Center. He was born March 19,
1922, in Monroe, WI, the son of Raymond and Selma (BABLER)
SCHOONOVER. He married Betty HOCKING May 7, 1966,
in Milwaukee, WI. He was a veteran of WWII, a graduate of Marquette
Law School, [and] a member of the Community of Christ the Servant.
He retired from the Insurance Co. of North America.
- He is survived by his wife, Betty; a son, James (Rochelle)
SCHOONOVER of Wales,
- WI; a daughter Carol (Alan) FITZ of Milwaukee; his
mother, Selma; 4 grandchildren; 2 sisters, June (Lawrence) SWIETZER,
and Jean (John) STEFFEN, both of Madison; 7 nieces and
nephews.
- Memorial services will be held on Wed., Jan. 25, at 1:00
p.m. at SKINDINGSRUDE
- FUNERAL HOME, Whitewater. Memorials may be given to the Whitewater
Kiwanis Breakfast Club.
