Bernard [Frederick] "Bernie" FARMER, age 72, of 2724 N. Wright Rd., died Fri.,
April 28, 2000, at Mercy Health System. He was born Sept. 23, 1927, in Edgerton, the son of Fred and Meta (BLESSMAN) FARMER. He married Jean SCHOLL on Oct. 1, 1949, in Milton, WI. Bernie lived his whole live in the Edgerton, Janesville area. He served two years in the Navy. He worked for Blue Cross, Blue Shield Insurance as a salesman for over 25 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church and served as a board member of Lutheran Social services. His enjoyment was genealogy.
He is survived by his wife, Jean of Janesville; 4 daughters: Lynn (Bob) REICH of
Michigan, Lu Ann FARMER of Madison, WI, Mary (Joel) OREN of Edgerton and Jill (Rick) ALBERS of Illinois; 17 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 AFS daughters, Virginia (John) ZEPKE of Edgerton, and Norma (Jose) GRIGIO of Brazil. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tues., May 2, 2000, at Mt. Calvary
Lutheran Church, Janesville, with Pastor Tom Colgrove officiating. Burial will be in Fassett Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorials may be made to the church or Genealogy. [Monday edition, p. 2B]
