JANESVILLE / EVANSVILLE- John David HERITAGE, age 85, of Janesville,
formerly Evansville, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004 at Alden Meadow Park Nursing Home in Clinton. He was born on May 16, 1918 in Milton, WI, the son of Charles and Jennie Mae (HARRIS) HERITAGE. He married Hazel Lee ALLISON COOPER on Dec. 15, 1944 in Texas; she preceded him in death in September, 1974. He then married Bessie BROWN in 1975; she preceded him in death on Aug. 23, 2001. John was a farmer, then worked at Varco Pruden until his retirement. He loved his grandchildren and the time he spent with them, and enjoyed fishing. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Janesville and Evansville.
John is survived by a son, Lee (Carlyn) COOPER of DePere; a daughter, Sue
(Robert) FENRICK of Janesville; a sister, Esther (Al) COX of Beloit; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 wives; 2 brothers, Russ and Raymond; and 2 sisters, Leona and Lucy. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004, at FIRST Baptist Church , Evansville, with Pastor David Fellows presiding. John's family will be present to greet friends at church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Evansville. Friends may call on Monday, Feb. 23 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Ward Funeral Home , Evansville. [Saturday edition]
