SANTA BARBARA, CA/MILTON - Jeanette Marie (KRAMER) POLAN was
born on Aug. 29, 1922, to Lawrence and Carrie KRAMER of Fulton. She grew up in Fulton, graduated from Edgerton High School, and attended Milton College. She married Roger POLAN on Sept. 5, 1943.
After living in Milton for several years, the family moved to Santa Barbara, CA, in
1960, where she resided until her death on June 3, 2004. Jeanette spent most of her working years as a bookkeeper for several companies in Santa Barbara. She expressed her creativity through many hobbies, including sewing, needlepoint, cross-stitch, and miniatures. After she retired she spent many hours creating a miniature dollhouse that was a replica of her childhood home in Fulton.
She is survived by her husband, Roger POLAN of Santa Barbara, CA; sons, Jeff of
Carpinteria, CA, and Jerry of La Pine, OR; a daughter, Carrie BELL of Santa Clara, CA; 2 sisters, Jean KRAMER of Santa Barbara, CA, and Ruth SCHWAHN of Vancouver, British Columbia; as well as 4 grandchildren: Stacey POLAN, Melissa BLOSSOM, Chris POLAN, and Jonathan BELL; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 11, 2004, at Albrecht Funeral
Home, Hwy. 26, Milton, with Pastor George Calhoun officiating. Burial will be in Milton Cemetery. Albrecht Funeral Home is assisting the family. [Wednesday edition]

MILTON - Roger I. DAVIDSON, age 95, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2004.
He was born in Milton on Aug. 8, 1908, to Thomas and Myrtie DAVIDSON. Roger spent the majority of his life in the Milton area, except for a few years spent with the family in Kansas. After graduating from Milton Union High School Roger worked for General Motors in Janesville, later attending and graduating from Madison Business College.
Roger married Mary Harriet COURTNEY on Jan. 13, 1940, and together they
owned DAVIDSON's Grocery and Meat Market in the Junction for nearly 30 years. After retiring from the store at age 68, Roger went to work with his cousins at DAVIDSON and SKELLY Orchard until retiring again at age 85. He provided 23 years of service to the community as an election official, and he was honored by the city of Milton with a plaque of appreciation in 1998. Roger loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, rides in the country, his grandchildren and his family.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary; a daughter, Suzanne (Buba)
JAITEH of Madison; a son, John (Carol); a granddaughter, Lindsey DAVIDSON; and a grandson, Tyler DAVIDSON; all of Janesville.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 24, 2004, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Albrecht
Funeral Home, Hwy. 26, Milton. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 25, at the funeral home, with burial at the Milton Junction Cemetery immediately following. A fellowship luncheon will be provided at the Milton United Methodist Church, Milton. [Wednesday edition]

MENASHA / BELOIT— Virgil A[sa] GOODRICH, age 82, passed away
Tuesday, June 25, 2004, at Century Oaks Assisted Living Facility in Menasha, WI, following a long battle with failing health.
Virgil was born on April 11, 1922, in Milton, WI, son of the late Asa and Iva
(HAYNES) GOODRICH. On Sept. 16, 1943, Virgil married the former Jessie MOORE in Beloit, WI; she preceded him in death in 2001, following 57 years of marriage. Prior to her death the couple had resided in Sheboygan, WI. During World War II Virgil valiantly served his country in the U.S. Navy as a 3rd Class gunner's mate in the Merchant Marines from 1942 to 1945, at which time he received an honorable discharge. For many years the family operated a dairy farm in the Beloit area. Later in life Virgil became a carpenter and traveled around the country on various construction projects.
Survivors include his son, Ace R. GOODRICH of Colony, KS, and his children,
Ray GOODRICH JACOBSON and Kristy (Jeff) RICHARDS; his daughter, Kay (Robert) LEVERENZ of Kaukauna, WI, and their children, Tim (Penney) LEVERENZ and Tammy LEVERENZ; 4 great-grandchildren: Logan JACOBSON, Cheyenne and Savannah RICHARDS, and Alisa LEVERENZ. Virgil is also survived by a sister, Tressia (Charley) LARSEN of Walworth, WI; a brother-in-law, Robert RUTH of South Beloit, IL; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Wenzel CORBIN; his wife, Jessie; a brother, Orville (Anne) GOODRICH; sisters: Cody (Fred) NATZ, Vera (Harv) CLARK, and Irma SHORE; and sisters-in-law, Lenora (Bob) HAMILTON and Helene RUTH.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2004, at Central
Christian Church in Beloit, WI. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Virgil's many friends at Round House Manor in Kaukauna, and to the wonderful and caring staff at Century Oaks for their love, support, and gentle care of our father. MILTON— Nelsie Evelyn ROOD, age 95, lifelong resident of the Milton, WI area,
died Thursday, June 24, 2004, in the Memorial Community Hospital Long Term Care Unit, Edgerton.
She was born in Milton on June 4, 1909, to Byron R. and Lena NELSON ROOD.
She graduated from Milton College and taught school for several years. She was also employed in the 1940s at Goodenough Music Store, Janesville, and retired from the Burdick Corporation in 1974. Nelsie was a lifetime member of Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church and participated in its afternoon circle well into her 80s.
Nelsie is survived by cousins: Reva STUMP of Minneapolis, MN, Erlo NELSON of
Hayward, WI, Candace HURLEY of Madison, WI, Miriam RANDALL of Janesville, WI, and Elise WALKER of Ankeny, IA; a sister-in-law, Doris ROOD of Lafayette, CO; and nieces and nephews: Carol PALMER of Alburg, VT, Alice PARKER of Thornton, CO, Larry ROOD of Portland, OR, Gordon ROOD of Portland, OR, Dale ROOD of Dodge Center, MN, and Phil ROOD of Omaha, NE. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward and Leman.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2004, at Albrecht
Funeral Home, Hwy. 26, Milton, WI. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 1, 2004, at the Seventh Day Baptist Church, 720 E. Madison Ave., Milton, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Remembrances may be made to the Seventh Day Baptist Church. Albrecht Funeral Home, Milton, is assisting the family with arrangements. [Tuesday edition]
