Milton - Florence NELSON ANDERSON, age 89, of Milton, WI, died Monday,
July 19, 2004, at Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Florence was born in Stoughton, WI, on Oct. 17, 1914, to Alfred and Hattie
NELSON. She graduated from Stoughton High School and from Madison Business College. On Sept. 12, 1937, she married Arthur J. ANDERSON and filled her years being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Milton, and enjoyed playing cards with family and friends.
She is survived by her children: Gary (Carole) ANDERSON, Kay (Bruce)
KENYON, David ANDERSON, Betty (Pete) REED, son-in-law, Mike VAN COULTER, all of Milton; grandchildren: Michael (Barri) VAN COULTER, Michele (Tom) MORIN, Lisa SCHROEDER, Holly ANDERSON, Chad (Maria) KENYON, Troy (Amy) KENYON, Lance (Sarah) KENYON, Brent and Elliot ANDERSON, Ryan HEISE, Rachel and Aaron REED, Mark (Kasey) REED and Mike (Jessica) REED; 14 great- grandchildren; and several sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur J. ANDERSON; daughters, Kathleen ANDERSON and Marlene VAN COULTER; a grandson, Mark ANDERSON; and a brother, Lester.
A celebration of Florence's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2004, at
Hope Lutheran Church, Milton, WI, with Pastor Ron Weber officiating. Burial will be in Milton Junction Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday evening at Albrecht Funeral Home, Hwy. 26, Milton, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., and on Thursday at the Church from 10:00 until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. [Tuesday edition]

GALESBURG, IL/MILTON - [Dorothy] Virginia N. BURDICK, 86, of 285 N.
Chambers St., Galesburg, IL, died Monday, June 21, 2004, in Galesburg Cottage Hospital. She was born on June 10, 1918, in Parkersburg, WV, daughter of Opha K. and Gertrude BUSH NORMAN. She graduated from Parkersburg High School, Parkersburg, WV, and after attending one year at Salem College, Salem, WV, transferred to Capital University in Columbus, OH, and graduated with a bachelor's degree from that institution. On June 29, 1943, in Milton, WI, she married Dr. H. Laurence BURDICK, who preceded her in death on May 24, 1998. Virginia was a state and regional officer for the General Federation of Women's Clubs for many years in Wisconsin and cherished her memories of that time.
For most of her life she was a member of the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church and
was very active in the life of that church, holding several positions through the years, including church president, clerk, and for many years publicity chairman for the church's annual turkey supper. She had served in many capacities on the school board in Milton, including treasurer. While she lived most of her life in Milton, in recent years her own and her husband's failing health had caused her to live with her children. After the death of her husband she joined the First Seventh Day Baptist Church of Genesee in Little Genesee, NY, and was a member there at the time of her death. She had lived in Galesburg since 2001.
She is survived by 2 sons, Dr. Norman R. (Faith) BURDICK of Galesburg, IL, and
Rev. Kenneth B. (Ruth) BURDICK of Auburn, WA; a daughter, Linda J. (Rev. Gordon) LAWTON of Milton; 9 grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her sister.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 23, 2004, at the Milton
Seventh Day Baptist Church. Memorials may be made in Virginia's name to the Seventh Day Baptist Center on Ministry, 3120 Kennedy Road, Janesville, WI 53547. Albrecht Funeral Home, Hwy. 26, Milton, assisted the family. [Wednesday edition]

MILTON - Elaine SHAW, 74, of 891 Parkview Dr., Milton, WI, died Friday, July
23, 2004, at the Memorial Community Hospital in Edgerton, WI. She was born on July 23, 1930, in Edgerton, daughter of Erwin and Mildred (CHASE) DAVIS. She married Glen SHAW on July 23, 1948, in the Little Brown Church in Iowa. Elaine moved to Milton in 1960, coming from Edgerton. She was a member of the Milton Methodist Church and loved to play Bingo.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Glen SHAW of Milton; 5 sons: Bruce
SHAW of Alaska, Bryan (Mary) SHAW of Georgia, Terry SHAW of Janesville, WI, Dale (Sherie) SHAW of Milton, WI, and Craig SHAW of Orfordville, WI; a daughter, Shelly (Phil) SWEENEY of Janesville, WI; 11 grandchildren: Shane, Candice, Crystal, James, Brentson, Dustin, Heather, Amber, Christopher, Glen and Gregory; 3 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary HOVE of Edgerton, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at the Milton
Methodist Church, with Pastor Virgil Holmes officiating. Burial will be in the Milton Jct. Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. at the church. The Albrecht Funeral Home, Milton, is assisting the family. [Monday edition]
