JANESVILLE - Robert P. CLARK, 86, of Janesville, died at his home Monday,
Feb. 7, 2005.
Robert was born in Johnstown on Nov. 17, 1918, the son of Frank and Mary
(MAWHINNEY) CLARK. He graduated from Janesville High School. He was formerly employed by Burdick Corporation, Ken Short Service Station, Wells Motors, and retired from Blain Supply Company. Robert was a member of Rock Prairie United Presbyterian Church.
Robert CLARK is survived by his wife, the former Mary Kay GAGE, whom he
married on Oct. 4, 1975; 2 sons, Alan CLARK of Milton and Larry CLARK of Janesville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol; his parents; 2 brothers, John D. CLARK and James F. CLARK; and 2 sisters, Catherine ARNOLD and Marion McLAY.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at Rock Prairie United
Presbyterian Church, 8625 County Trunk A East, Janesville, with Rev. Dee Talley officiating. Interment will be in Johnstown Center Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. The family is being assisted by Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, Janesville. [Wednesday edition]

MILTON-Betty Jane SOWLES, 81, formerly of 702 E. Madison Ave., Apt. G-39,
died, Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, at Rock Haven. She was born in Sharon, WI, on Nov. 18, 1923, the daughter of Minnie Belle (BOYCE) KLINGBEIL. In 1945, she married George E. SOWLES in Waukegan, IL. He preceded her in death in 1981.
Mrs. SOWLES worked at Mercy Hospital in the cashiers office and as a receptionist
at Rock Haven when it opened. She and her husband also managed three Kickapoo Self Service Gas Stations, Hwy 14 West, New Berlin, WI, and Hwy 51 South, Janesville, before retiring in 1980. She had been a resident of Milton since 1981 and was a member of 1st Congregational Church. She loved her pets, playing cards and watching her "soaps."
She is survived by her 3 children: Thomas F. of Milton, Lonnie (James) HASEMAN
of Janesville and Janice C. SHAW of Milton; 4 grandchildren: Jesse (Jodi) HASEMAN of Beloit, Lucas HASEMAN of Janesville, Jennifer (Kevin) CORNELL of Saulte Ste Marie, MI, and Christina SHAW of Janesville; 4 great-grandchildren: Ryan GRIFFITH, Jakob CORNELL, Haleigh PARKER and Wayne PARKER; and 2 special nieces, Geraldine (Wyman) NELSON of Janesville and Maggie SCHULTZ of Janesville. She was preceded in death by her mother; husband; 2 sisters; a brother; granddaughter, Kimberly Ann METON; and a host of friends.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, at the 1st
Congregational Church, Milton, with Rev. Herb Saunders officiating. Interment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service. Schneider Apfel Schneider & Schneider Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. [Thursday edition]
