JANESVILLE - Lillian M. BURDICK, 79, of 1107 Menard St., died on Thursday,
May 3, 2007, at home.
She was born and raised in the family home at 521 Caroline St. on May 30, 1927, the
youngest of eight children born to Abe and Selma (SHWERY) ADAMANY. She graduated from Janesville High School in 1945 and entered Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in September of 1945, graduating in 1948. In 1951 Lillian completed six months of post graduate courses at Margaret Hague Maternity Hospital, Jersey City, NJ, and attended Marquette University. She had been employed by the Milwaukee County Emergency Hospital, and most of her career was at Mercy Hospital, where she retired in 1990. She married Arthur I. BURDICK on Oct. 11, 1952, in Trinity Episcopal Church, and he preceded her in death on March 6, 2005. Lillian lived with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia for over 27 years. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Episcopal Church, where she was active in the Altar Guild, Meals on Wheels, Adams School Breakfast Club, Mercy School of Nursing Alumni Association, and when her children were young, she was active in Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts.
Lillian is survived by her 5 children: Mary C. (Matt) SCHOONOVER of Plover, WI,
Julie A. PIERCE of Stoughton, Nancy E. (Sandy GOODWIN) BURDICK of Phoenix, AZ, John A. (Candi) BURDICK of Chino Hills, CA, and Amy J. PETERSON of Reedsburg; 7 grandchildren: Lindsey, Sara and Matthew PIERCE, Ryan SCHOONOVER, Austin BURDICK, Jennifer and Peter PETERSON III; a sister, Alice (Denny) SNOOK of Minneapolis, MN; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 sisters, Jo SANFORD and Louise SCHRICKER; and 4 brothers: Bill, Joe, Wally and Fred ADAMANY.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at TRINITY
EPISCOPAL CHURCH, with Rev. Robert LeBron officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday from 4 until 6 p.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME, and again on Tuesday from 9:30 until 10 a.m. at the CHURCH .
