- Paul W[ardner] JOHNSON came
from Stonefort, Ill. to live with Mrs. Martha
- WARDNER
on Madison ave. in the Conkey house in Milton Junction until
he graduated from Milton college in 1898. After studying medicine
he married Lura BURDICK of Milton Junction. She died several
years ago. They settled in Clarkston, Wash., and he practiced
there and in Lewiston, Idaho, for 44 years, in later years specializing
in X-ray and radiology.
- The Clarkston Tribune describes him
as "a medical, musical and cultural leader who
- officiated in the birth of 4,500 babies,
was one of the builders of the Clarkston clinic, was a school
board member who introduced music in the schools, was active
in musical organizations, served as mayor, was past president
of Kiwanis club, was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, and a
member of the American Medical association."
- Dr. JOHNSON is survived by his
widow, Mrs. Alyce JOHNSON; by three
- daughters, Mrs. Paul GREEN,
Milton; Mrs. George DAY, Washington, D.C.; and Helen JOHNSON,
who recently flew from China to be with him. His four grandchildren
are Helen Ruth, Georgia, Paul J., and Frank GREEN of Milton.
Dr. JOHNSON was afflicted with a heart ailment. Burial
was in the Clarkston cemetery.
