- Gailen A[llen] PIERCE, 54, rt.
3, Edgerton, died Thursday morning, Aug. 9 in
- Memorial hospital, Edgerton, following
a few weeks illness.
- He was born on the PIERCE farm
at Thiebeau Point, near Milton Junction, March
- 24, 1897, the son of Stennett and Hattie
ESTEE PIERCE.
- He attended the local school and graduated
from the Milton Junction high school.
- June 12, 1918, he was married to Lillian
COOPER, who survives, with two sons,
- Gailen A., Jr., Rt. 5, Janesville and
Lowell S. A. Naval Supply Center, Pearl Harbor, T. H. He is
also survived by three grandchildren, Allen, Gordon and Sally
PIERCE, two sisters, Mrs. Grace KIRCHOFF and Mrs.
Ona WOOLSTRUM, Milton Junction, and two brothers, Henry
and Clarence PIERCE, Edgerton.
- Mr. PIERCE had been a farmer
all of his life, living the past 30 years on the same
- farm. He was a member of the Edgerton
Methodist church, serving many years as usher and on the official
board. He had also held office in the Methodist Men's club.
- Although unable to be present, he was
re-elected treasurer of the Lake Drive school
- district at the last annual meeting,
thus starting his 25th year in that office.
- Funeral services were held Saturday
afternoon in the Reuben Tellefson Funeral home
- conducted by the Rev. Edwin M. Oliver,
Belvidere, assisted by the Rev. W. F. Tomlinson, Edgerton.
The song service was given by Mmes. Harold GREENWOOD and
Ralph JOHNSON accompanied by Mrs. Paul SCHULZE.
Interment was in Fassett cemetery. Pallbearers were George
and Arthur KRUEKENBURG, George OAKLEY, Richard
RUSCH, Alfred SWENSON and Elmer OLSON.
In charge of the flowers were Mmes. A. O. and F. W. DIETZE,
S. C. HUMPHREY, and Otto FRITZKE.
- Relatives and friends who attended
from a distance included: Lowell PIERCE, Pearl
- Harbor; Mr. and Mrs. Willard PIERCE,
Mr. and Mrs. Franklin PIERCE, Mrs. Will MESSMER,
Fort Atkinson; Mr. and Mrs. Roy MARSDEN, Milwaukee; Mr.
and Mrs. Kenneth MARSDEN, West Bend; Mrs. Dorothy BRADLEY,
New Lisbon; Ed SCHOENIAN, Chicago; Harry CONNOR,
Evanston; Mr. and Mrs. Douglas BURDICK, Rockford; Mr.
and Mrs. John THOMSON, Mt. Horeb; Mr. and Mrs. Walter
