Mrs. H. L. BAKER died in her home, 107 Vernal avenue, Milton Junction, at 4 p.m.
Tuesday. She had been in failing health for some time and for the past two months failed rapidly.
Lottie Leona GRAY was born in Milton Junction, July 31, 1879, the daughter of
Chauncey and Lydia E. MONROE GRAY. She grew to womanhood here and attended Milton college and was a teacher in rural schools in Rock county for several years.
She became a member of the old Rock River Seventh Day Baptist church when a
young woman, later transferring to the Milton Junction church. She was also a member of the Seventh Day Baptist Ladies Aid society, the W.C.T.U. and Friendship chapter Eastern Star, and was active in all these organizations as long as her health permitted.
She is survived by her husband; three brothers, Carl GRAY, Fred GRAY and
Winferd GRAY, Milton Junction; one sister, Mrs. J. E. McWILLIAM of Milton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held in the Seventh Day Baptist church at 2 p.m. Saturday, and
burial will be in Milton Junction cemetery. The Rev. Kenneth Van Horn will officiate. The Eastern Star ritual will be given.
Friends may call at the BAKER home, 107 Vernal avenue, Thursday and Friday

Funeral services for Mrs. H. L. BAKER were held in the Seventh Day Baptist church,
Milton Junction, Saturday afternoon, the Rev. Kenneth Van Horn officiating. Burial was in Milton Junction cemetery.
The song service was given by Donald GRAY, Milton, accompanied by Mrs. Leland
SHAW. Officers of Friendship chapter, Eastern Star, gave the Eastern Star ritual.
Pallbearers were Clarence McWILLIAM, John CAMPBELL, Oscar
HARTMAN, Ralph, Robert and Charles GRAY. [Thursday edition, p. 8]

Mr. and Mrs. George R. BOSS, Milton, have received word of the death of their
son-in-law, Charles F[rancis] PLACE, 67, Tuesday, Nov. 6, in Zephyrhills. Fla., following a heart attack.
Mr. and Mrs. PLACE had spent a few days in Milton two weeks previously en route
from their home in Francestown, N.H., to Florida where they had planned to spend the winter.
Mr. PLACE was born April 11, 1884, in Milton, where his father, Prof. Francis
PLACE, was a teacher in Milton college. He was married to Lela A. BOSS, June 1, 1924, and they lived in Tennessee, North Carolina and Washington, D. C., where Mr. PLACE's work as an engineer took him. Since he retired three years ago, they had lived in Francestown.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters Mrs. W. W. ELLIS, Buchanan, Mich., and Mrs.
Thomas B. PLACE, Anchorage, Alaska; two granddaughters; two sisters, Olive and Alice PLACE, and three brothers, Dr. Edwin H. PLACE, Dr. Phillip W. PLACE and Albert W. PLACE. A brother, Mark PLACE, preceded him in death. [Thursday edition, p. 8]
