- Funeral services were held Friday afternoon,
Feb. 26, in Duluth, Minn., for Claude
- D[urell] STILLMAN, 69, who died
Feb. 22, after a short illness.
- Claude D. STILLMAN was born
Nov. 2, 1884, in Utica, Wis., the son of A. B. and
- M. Clarine COON STILLMAN.
When he was six years old the family moved to Nortonville,
Kan. He graduated from high school there and taught for three
years, after which he went to Milton college where he graduated
in 1909.
- He married Cora E. THOMAS on
June 22, 1912, at Ely, Minn. He taught school at
- Nielsville and Rochester, Minn., and
Oconto, River Falls, and Hayward, Wis. In 1920 he moved to
Duluth and became an auditor for the Clement K. Quinn Mining
Co.
- A member of the Pilgrim Congregational
church in Duluth, he was recently honored for
- 20 years service as treasurer.
- Survivors include his wife, a daughter,
Aliceon C. BRANCH, Milton; a son, Newland
- A., Duluth, two sisters, Miss Ruth
A. STILLMAN, Madison and Miss Rose STILLMAN, Milton,
three brothers, Clair L., Wauwatosa; James I., Houston, Texas;
and D. Theodore, Montebello, Calif., and seven grandchildren.
- He was a member of the Masonic lodge.
- A memorial fund to Milton college has
been started in his honor.
- Final burial will be in Milton. [Thursday
