Funeral services for Uriah M[artin] BAKER, 74, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in
the Albrecht funeral home, the Rev. John F. Randolph and Pastor Kenneth E. Smith officiating. Kenneth A. BABCOCK, Milton, sang. Burial was in Milton cemetery, pallbearers being Carl and Louis SUNBY, Roger POLAN, Franklin BOLAC, Clarence MORRISSEY and Howard DRAKE.
Relatives from Janesville and Edgerton attended.
Mr. BAKER died Wednesday night, Feb. 27, in his home on E. Madison avenue,
Milton Junction.
The son of Louis and Mary BAKER, he was born Sept. 5, 1882, at Hartsville, N.Y.
He attended Milton College and played on the football team. His marriage to Hazel BURDICK took place in April 1904. He was a painting contractor until 1922 when he entered the employ of The BURDICK Corporation, retiring in 1952 after 30 years. He was on the county YMCA board for several years and was a member of the Seventh Day Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Harold, of Lansing, Mich.; a daughter, Florence, at
home, and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother. [Thursday edition, p. 4]

Mrs. Lester W. HULL, 64, life resident of this community, died at 3:30 p.m.
Thursday, Mar. 7, in Edgerton Memorial hospital following an illness of three months. She had served as librarian at Milton Union high school for 18 years and was beloved by all who knew her.
Helen [M.], daughter of Ormanzo and Ida TANNER COTTRELL, and her twin
brother Howard were born March 28, 1892, in Milton Junction. On May 7, 1914, she married Lester W. HULL and they engaged in farming until 1926 when they moved to Milton where he died in 1928.
Surviving are two sons, Lawrence, of Miami, Fla., and Wayland of Durham, N.C.,
and seven grandchildren.
Union high school closed at noon Monday to enable the teachers and students to
attend the services at 2 p.m. in the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church. In his memorial tribute, the Rev. Elmo F. Randolph emphasized that Mrs. HULL's life had typified devotion, service and courage. Kenneth A. BABCOCK sang "Lead Kindly Light," accompanied by Miss Elizabeth DALAND.
Burial was in Milton Junction cemetery with pallbearers being Leland SHAW, F. M.
BRANCH, C. H. DORR, Wayne DAVIDSON, Carl F. ANDERSON and James PAASKE.
Among those attending the services were relatives and friends from Miami, Fla.,
Durham, N.C., Loves Park, Rockford, Madison, Milwaukee and Janesville. [Thursday edition, p. 4]
