- Miss Ruth [Ann] STILLMAN, 68,
Madison, who became ill while on a trip along
- the west coast, died last Friday morning
in Madison General Hospital.
- Memorial services were held in the
chapel of First Congregational church, Madison,
- at 10 a.m. Monday, the Rev H. Engstrom
officiating. At 2:30 that afternoon the Rev. Elmo F. Randolph
officiated at the service in the Milton Seventh Day Baptist church
and Kenneth BABCOCK sang two selections with Miss Betty
DALAND at the organ.
- Interment was in Milton cemetery.
Pallbearers were Professors L. M. VAN HORN,
- L. C. SHAW, Herbert CROUCH,
W. D. BURDICK, J. L. SKAGGS and Edward ROOD.
- Relatives and friends from Houston,
Tex., Milwaukee, Wauwatosa, Platteville,
- Madison, Albion, Beloit and Janesville
attended.
- Ruth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. B.
STILLMAN, was born in Utica, Dane county,
- Sept. 22, 1888. A graduate of Milton
College, she taught here one year. She attended the University
of Wisconsin and taught in Wisconsin high schools, including
Madison East, 40 years and in Kansas schools four years. She
had resided in Madison since 1926. She was a lifelong member
of Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church.
- Miss STILLMAN was a member of
Delta Kappa Gamma social sorority, Madison
- Woman's Club, Madison Civics Club,
Madison Garden Club and Audubon Society.
- She is survived by one sister, Rose
H. STILLMAN, Milton; three brothers, Clair, of
- Wauwatosa, James, of Houston, Tex.,
and D. Theodore STILLMAN of Montebello, Calif.; an aunt,
Mrs. James H. COON, Milton; six nephews and five nieces.
