- Leon J[ulius] TODD, resident
of Milton since 1922, died Tuesday morning in
- Community Hospital, Edgerton, following
a period of ill health.
- The youngest son of Lewis and Azelia
SATTERLEE TODD, he was born April 23,
- 1892, in North Loup, Neb. In September
1914 he married Miss Floy BROWN in Brookfield, N.Y.
Eight years later they moved to Milton.
- Mr. TODD had been in charge
of the sewage disposal plant since its installation in
- 1939. He also had charge of the pumping
station and had acted as police officer for a number of years
but retired from these positions during the past two or three
years because of ill health.
- He was a member of the Brookfield,
N.Y., Seventh Day Baptist Church and of Du
- Lac Lodge, I.O.O.F., Milton.
- Surviving besides his wife, is a daughter,
Leonora, wife of Sgt. Paul CURLESS of
- Indianapolis, Ind.; three grandchildren,
Pauline, Todd and Wylene CURLESS; and two brothers, Hal
E. at Effingham, Ill., and Clark M., Milton.
- In the absence of Rev. Elmo F. Randolph,
who is attending General Conference in
- Covina, Calif., Prof. D. N. Inglis
conducted the service at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) in the Milton
Seventh Day Baptist Church. Kenneth A. BABCOCK gave
the song service and Mrs. Bettina LEWIS presided at the
organ. Burial was in Milton Cemetery, pallbearers being Homer
GREEN, H. Coy DECKER, Charles BINGHAM, Spence
HOWARD, E. T. SHUMWAY and Henry OCHS.
Mmes. W. G. POLAN and Walter SAYRE took care of

- Mrs. J. Clark CRANDALL, 94,
who had resided in Lima Center since moving from
- the old farm on Milton Route 1, died
at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, in Memorial Hospital, Fort Atkinson,
after a brief illness.
- Ella Ruth LACEY was born Nov.
30, 1863, in Farina, Marion County, Ill. In 1891
- she was married to J. Clark CRANDALL
who preceded her in death, as did three children, Mrs. Mabel
TRUMAN, Frank and Myrtle CRANDALL.
- Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. H. C.
(Maree) TRUMAN, with whom she made her
- home, also four grandchildren and five
great grandchildren.
- Funeral services will be held at 2
p.m. Friday in the Albrecht Funeral Home, Elder
- Donald S. Robbins, of the Seventh-day
Adventist Church officiating and being assisted by Elder Albert
Johnson. Burial will be in Milton Cemetery. [Thursday edition,

- Miss Lelia STILLMAN, 74, who
had resided with her cousin, Mrs. Robert
- GREENE,
Milton Junction, the past few years, died Monday, Aug. 25, in
Community Hospital, Edgerton, where she had been a patient a
short time.
- Funeral services were held at 3:30
p.m. Wednesday in the Seventh Day Baptist
- church, Milton, the Rev. Elmo F. Randolph
officiating. Kenneth A. BABCOCK gave the song service
and Miss Betty DALAND presided at the organ. Burial was
in Milton Cemetery, pallbearers being, Howard DRAKE, Ivan
FitzRANDOLPH, Leland C. SHAW, Forrest M. BRANCH,
J. Leland SKAGGS and L. Milton VAN HORN.
- Lelia Clarine, daughter of Rev. M.
G. and Marcella CRANDALL STILLMAN,
- was born April 26, 1884 at Walworth
where she obtained her education through high school. At Milton
College she received a music certificate and she attended three
summer sessions at Cornell University Ithaca, N.Y. For 16 years
she served as high school music supervisor part of the time at
Antigo, Wis., and at Morgantown, W. Va.
- At the age of 42, she decided to become
a nurse and entered the School of Nursing
- at Mercy Hospital, Janesville. Twenty
of her 22 years as a graduate nurse, she served as nurse and
social worker at Pinehurst Sanatorium, Janesville, and Forest
Lawn San. at Jefferson.
- She was a member of the Milton Seventh
Day Baptist Church and had served on the
- Milton College board of trustees.
- Among the survivors are a niece, Mrs.
Jack McKELVY, Denver, Colo.; and two
- Nephews, Harold STILLMAN, Jr.,
of Denver and Brig. Gen. Robert M. STILLMAN of Lackland
Air Force Base, Texas. [Thursday edition, p. 4]
