- Carl B[ertrand] GRAY, 82, lifelong
resident of this area, died at 3 a.m. Sunday at his
- home here, following an illness of
several months.
- The son of Chauncey D. and Elmira M.
GRAY, he was born Dec. 29, 1877. On
- Oct. 30, 1901 he married AnnaBelle
VINCENT, who preceded him in death Aug. 1, 1940. After
working several years in the West lumber yard at Milton Junction
he took up farming, in which occupation he continued until his
retirement in 1941. On Oct. 22, 1942 he married Zalia WELLS.
- Mr. GRAY was a longtime member
of the Seventh Day Baptist Church, having been
- baptized at an early age in the old
Rock River Church.
- He is survived by his wife Zalia; three
daughters, Mrs. Oscar HARTMAN of Milton
- Junction; Mrs. Lillian CAMPBELL
and Mrs. Joseph RABIOLA of Janesville; one son, Donald
V., Milton; one sister, Mrs. J. E. McWILLIAM, Milton;
one brother, Winfred, Milton Junction; seven grandchildren and
thirteen great-grandchildren. A sister Lottie and a brother
Fred preceded him in death.
- Funeral services were conducted at
2 p.m. Tuesday in the Milton Junction Seventh
- Day Baptist Church, the Rev. J. F.
Randolph officiating. Burial was in the Milton Junction cemetery.
